Arguably a improvement over the older games but made so much worse by the sheer length of time that passed since Gen 1. The lack of a difficulty mode for instance is genuinly inexcusable and only made worse by the fact that the games have only gotten easier over time(Which isn't even to imply Gen 1 or the like is hard).

Also Scarlet and Violet is uniquely amateurish and rushed. Genuinely inexcusable from a performance perspective.
