The Steam Controller is a middle ground, you can just have 1 of each instead.There's seriously no reason not to wait and see public opinion in a month, see if people regret their purchases or end up loving the controller. People are too wrapped up in FOMO these days, it's possible to be an informed consumer instead of diving face first into the unknown.

I bought the steam controller a few minutes after release, but only out of excitement. I did not realize it would sell out so quickly that it was necessary if I wanted to secure it asap.
