Phylactery Unbound is also just an insane startee relic upgrade. Pillar is super strong on Regent but you do need a few specific cards for it to truly pop off and Regent doesn't have nearly as much energy freedom as Necro.

I cannot for the life of me beat the Heart in Act 4 of StS1 with the Watcher. yes, I know about the stupid infinite gimmick build which never shows up. also from every time I've beaten the heart previously, by the end of the run it feels like I have so many relics and other random bullshit that it is no longer even possible for my brain to keep track of everything that's happening. you play a card and then a million things start happening, you get free energy out of nowhere somehow, cards start exploding and upgrading themselves, and then the boss is dead before you know it. but I've never gotten this with the Watcher, the Heart shows up every time and hits me twice and then I'm dead

This comboes well into Power Spam.Status spam. Honestly this just goes into the bag with Zero cost, there's decent overlap between the two. Usually has good early strength.Power Spam, which you can't typically spec into early BUT is a good way to transition your deck later on. This is what makes Defect go insane and any chance to do it is usually a good one. It's energy intensive hence why it goes so well with 0 cost, but can support orbs/status just as well if you have solutions for energy.Focus, which is orbs and shit. Typically this is Frost and Lightning but if you get good Dark cards you can roll with that too. Glass is kinda shitty and a nice bonus but not really a build style. Comboes sort of okay with Power Spam but you can run into Energy problems, though Defect has better cards for dealing with that in StS2. Unlike the previous three approaches, it can be a build unto itself with the right card.

the idea that unleash is boss scaling in the starter deck is so overrated. the majority of my wins with necro do not involve big osty and he gets to 20 hp at most. after dirge was nerfed, its way harder to get a build that consistently generates tons of summon AND block to make unleash your main boss damage.

The negative part that it can flood your hand and you can't spend you energy in a turn is highly negated by the fact that you can store energy for something else, like Whirl Wind, later.Taking Catastrophe was probably the right decision that I didn't make though. I took Restlessness and it's just a brick until Icecream happenned (which is unforeseeable) and I almost died because of it.

Confession time. You ever had a run so strong up until the point your cockyness becomes your downfall? I entered the Hourglass fight having taken 0 damage from everything else and starting doing goofy things for the fun of it until the glass started scaling a bit too high. Suddenly enfeebling werent preventing as much damage anymore and i ended up shamelessly restarting the fight playing it seriously from the start and ended up winning.
