Other than maybe Blacks, Whites have the strongest jaws on average of the major ethnic categories.

pretty sure the only thing weak jawlines and non existent chins like that signifies is a mouthbreathing problem and not having parents smart enough to correct said problem during your developmental years
should really be a more highlighted issue with parents ngl

Online trading accelerated the price inflation of collectors items. Don’t see how that’s even in question.

Because these people are entitled and they think they're owed the real thing for 2001's Funcoland prices even thought they slept on the collecting side of the games hobby for 30 years. These same "these are meant to be played with, not kept in a collection!" and "these are only expensive because of scalpers!" types exist in the toy collecting hobby too. They missed out on the older stuff and instead of looking at what they can afford to start collecting today, they get angry at the entire hobby and watch and complain from the side lines that they cant' afford the original 13 GI Joes and people should be selling them at 90s yard sale prices because that's "fair."

Say what you will about whether or not grading unopened games is a scam (depending on the service it's not, since you can include grading in an item's overall value", but the idea that something that survived 30 years in pristine condition from retail to the numerous hands it changed without being opened or damaged should go to some johny-come-lately for $60 because that's what it would have cost at Wal-Mart so he can rip the wrapper off and pretend he's 8 years old again is stupid and not realistic. If eBay and grading services didn't exist that unopened game would still be worth hundreds or thousands of dollars to collectors because that's how literlally all rare, pristine condition antiques that are popular are.

I think part of it too is the rage about getting older, not wanting to accept that the things you loved as a kid are turning into antiques that have real money values that go up attached to them, and that the chance to re-buy all your childhood shit at yardsale prices has disappeared. And that's exactly the niche that reproductions and rereleases are supposed to fill, but for someone that entitled, it'll never be good enough and they'll never forgive the market for having "gatekept" them.

I could probably get a down payment on a house if I sold my entire collection since I never got rid of my old games and I had good taste, but I don't want to sell them. If my kids, if I have them, or my nieces and nephews want to sell my estate when they inherit it someday then that's a choice I'll leave to them, but that collection and how I've curated it is partially an expression of who I am and I hope I never have to sell it even though I'd get a lot of money for it.

Old games are antiques. Any antique is going to have value attached to it and that value goes up. You can sit there and mald about how they plastic and silicon should be worthless and that only the arbitrary value you've chosen for the software should matter, but the fact that the price makes you mad shows that it has value beyond the software itself or else you'd just shrug and buy a digital copy or emulate or get a reproduction.

what the fuck are you on about, retard? I'm not mad about used game prices and I'm very against price controls. The price is whatever buyers and sellers agree on.
christ, people who think games are hobbies really are subhuman.

People don't really understand the point of scalpers. Scalpers exist to provide a service, ie they trade their time for money.
You aren't supposed to see them as an enemy, but as someone who will go to places you didn't have time to, like searching through flea markets.

Only poor people, ie those whose time isn't worth much, hate them.

That's not a scalper, that's a picker. Completely different thing. A scalper shows up early to buy as much stock of something as possible based on forecasted demand and then they control the supply so that they can sell their stock at an inflated price, thus profit. It is a very real problem but it's a frequently boogieman that people pull out whenever there's a shortage of something or they don't like the price on something that's rare and in high demand for completely normal reasons.

Tech bros however are a special type of awful. A few years ago they were hoarding GPUs to mine bitcoin, and when that grift ended they went straight to Nvidia with AI bullshit and now Nvidia and other companies are simply making less consumer RAM and GPUs because the pied piper tech bros have an unlimited supply of investment money from their wallstreet rats to outbid the entire consumer products market, and what little is available goes out the factory door for prices that not even a scalper would be willing to pay unless he really needed a new computer.
