I will shill Exo Rally Championship. Its full release was announced during the game awards. It's very technical but not so much that it's impossible to get into. I've never played a rally game until now.>rally racing gameplay except there's multiple planets with different kinds of atmospheres/gravity. Can only tune up/repair every 2-3 races>before each race, you fly around as a drone to scout the path ahead, since each race is on an open area of planet instead of dedicated roads>your rover is equipped with thrusters for the purpose of keeping yourself from flipping over. as you progress, you can even use the thrusters as boost. thrusters can overheat if you use them too much, they have limited fuel, and the fuel affects your weight which affects speed.>the tuning can go as autistic as you want. i don't know what 90% of the shit does but they have a quick-menu for people like me, or you can even completely ignore it and be fine.https://store.steampowered.com/app/2262020/Exo_Rally_Championship/

>>742052973>GoldenheartI got that one on a previous sale but you can't remap the controls so I didn't actually play. My recommendation for people who liked Northern Journey is https://store.steampowered.com/app/1807810/The_Axis_Unseen/ . It's also a game about fucking about in the woods with a bow shooting crytpids, but it has a Heavy Metal aesthetic with colossal skeletons everywhere. I also liked the magic system even if it was a bit finicky.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3088670/Fragile_Reflection/It's a game that reminds me of Siren for the PS2 and is steam deck verified which is enough for me to give it a pass. It's at 62 reviews too. Haven't played it yet, but I have bought it and installed it. Now I will find that one really obscure game that just released recently last year that had hand drawn portraits. No one reviewed it, but i still remember it.

>>742053506you're supposed to slow down and drift around corners. and you're also rarely supposed to floor it for extended periods of time. You can also tilt the right stick forward to activate your front thrusters, which can also help turning. or even pressing in the stick to keep all the tires deeper in the ground.
>>742053864Is it really shilling if the assumption is always that it's a 50/50 coin flip between the poster being a lonely 20 to 30 year old who never gets to talk about a particular game he likes and the developer themselves?

>>742043912>Was that route cut?Yes. I think there might be a restore patch somewhere for that, but I never bothered. VNDB has a patch which apparently only uncensors the stuff which wasn't completely removed so not the explicit content/evil route. From what I hear the evil route leads to a bad end which culminates in time being rewound to before you started it or something.>Also supposedly the combat system is esoteric.>Can I go in blind, or is that just a recipe for failure?I was worried about that too when I started, but it's not that bad. You have 50 save slots so make sure you use them such as after each battle. You get extra mana which you use for everything if you finish the mission sooner, but even if you get a bad rank you should be fine. Although, you'll probably get into the habit of loading back to before you fought a battle if you realized that you could have picked better moves. I think there's permadeath for side characters if I recall correctly. There are buildings too, but you should be able to figure those out. If you want you can search for guides on Steam (including a very useful pdf), but for a first playthrough just remember that pairing up the MC with any heroine/s gives points towards her route when you defeat an enemy squad. I'd recommend Aselia in case you only want to do one, but I enjoyed all of the routes. There's a bonus ending if you do all of the routes, but don't force yourself going for it because it's just a fun little bonus scene and not a True Ending. Hold Ctrl to skip dialogue or more importantly speed through the battles (I think there's a skip button too, but I never used it).

>Catgirl Bloodhunt >12 reviewshttps://store.steampowered.com/app/4117970/catgirl_bloodhunt/This is a pretty unique top-down arcade shooter, twin-stick if you will but auto-aim is an option.Your goal is to kill 20-100 enemies in each level, depending on difficulty. The twist is that your character can only move straight to the next wall. You cannot stop, you cannot move just one step.Once you kill the first enemy, a timer starts and you have to kill another enemy to add seconds. If the timer runs out it's game over. Your ammo is also your hp and you periodically have to pick up health items. Each level features new enemies that can shoot at you, become invisible, merge, split or that are clones of yourself that shoot when you shoot. And of course there are environmental hazards that you have to avoid while only being able to travel straight to the next wall. It's pretty hectic and hard mode is fucking difficult but it's great fun. The soundtrack is fucking awesome and included in the game's folder.Picture related is bait. The gameplay visuals look like shit. But good shit.Sounds good? Great! Go and buy it.Sounds like shit? Combat is extremely simple but pretty satisfying at times once you start building up more skills and magic. I highly recommend sticking with kb+m.Storyline is fairly generic in the classic JRPG sorts, but the world's aesthetics are very comfy combined with an OST that ranges from decent to good. The idea of a riddle to get the steam keys amuses me. what the hell.3 games, three keys. The black numbers are unchanged from the steam key but the red numbers are letters that I changed into numbers with a simple substitution cypher. A=1 B=2 C=3 and so on.You might notice the first key had the fewest red numbers and would be the quickest to decode, maybe you should go for that one, but maybe the key that has almost nothing but red numbers is a better game, who knows. I hope I didn't make a typo that would be embarrassing. Let me know if you get them.

Idols of Ash. Cheap, short and simple game about descending a hole with a rope. Really solid physics and mechanics. It looks quite nice at some points too, not a great screenshot. But it does one thing special that I've never seen ANY other game do. I'm not even sure it's intentional, or if anyone else had the same experience.
>>742085626>But it does one thing special that I've never seen ANY other game do.well what is it
The Pale City< 100 reviews (I think it has less than 50)it's a rather simple game, low budget, simplified turn based combat, but with impeccable world building, oppressive and melancholic atmosphere, interesting universe, well written dialogue, and an extremely engaging protagonist.I wasn't surprised to see that the dev was a book writer, as all of the highlights involve the writing, be it the narration, dialogues or monologues. It's also not very long, so it doesn't overstay its welcome. I did every single piece of side content in the game, and clocked in around 11-12 hours. Highly recommendedpic is just for grabbing attention

>>742086786i have played it you absolute fucking sperg. >I'm not even sure it's intentional, or if anyone else had the same experience.implies its missable or something that might not have been noticed on a regular playthrough.
>>742086503I don't want to post it because it kind of spoils it and it's not even that significant in of itself, but whatever: the game tricks you in to thinking you've finished the game and reached the pinnacle of difficulty within the first ~15 minutes of starting it. Short game, story concluded, done, whatever. It was a bit suspenseful at the end but nothing crazy. It then unlocks subsequent "bonus" levels, each one playing the same trick, making you think you've finally beat the really hard bit and finished the game. It culminates with the 6th bonus level which is sadistically difficult, and despite not adding any new mechanics (even though the game was simple to begin with), by that point you've mastered the mechanics and it plays like something completely different. To put it in perspective, the first level took as I mentioned 15 minutes, the final one took probably 6 hours of practice.

Fun little top-down racer in a similar vein to something like Over Top but with a bit more of a sim-cade style to it and a Gran Turismo-lite career mode where you can gather a whole garage full of cars and tune them up etc.All the cars are based on real cars, just named differently to avoid licensing, but it's a simple .txt swap to put the real names back in. Also supports custom soundtracks, just drop the files in the game folder. It's a bit grindy with a good amount of the later championship restrictions requiring certain types of car, but you typically get rewarded with new cars for winning cups so it's not that bad. There's also a rally mode which is more arcade-style with shorter stages one after the other as opposed to circuit racing.https://store.steampowered.com/app/2083210/Super_Woden_GP_2/
