After playing it and reading some reviews I get the furry thing is for separation and sympathy. It does make the theme deeper aside memes. But the game (normal difficulty mode) still feels too sadistic. Creative fetishism isn't a bad thing but it would be better if it's less obvious. And it doesn't make sense lore-wise to put these mostly incompetent puppies into suicide missions. It's not profitable at all. It sometimes feels like a perfectly set up stage for torturing these kids. How about making it something like a wholesome paramedic simulator where your main objective is rescuing your frens, maintaining all the core systems? That would justify everything while capturing the dev's dedication for the medical elements.
