I find it peculiar that in GT1, the Corvette Coupe and the Camaro Z28 both have what sounds like straight cut gears even though irl they don't. The gear whirring isn't as audible as it would become in later installments but it's there. Strangely enough, the Grand Sport model doesn't have the aforementioned sound. I would post a sound file but I'm lazy.

Something like Dale's or Rusty's 3-tone liveries look good on most boxy and curvy cars, but if a car happens to have lots of plastic cladding, it'll stick out like a sore thumb. On the flip side, something like the Castrol Supra's scheme would look great on curvy cars, but not so much boxy cars. In the end, it's a case-by-case basis when considering a particular car and scheme combo.
