What hurts rance worldbuilding is rance himself. Everything in every game is so rance-centric.So many dungeons with powerful loot but it just stays there untouched for decades until rance comes and retrieves it and once game is over it's lost again.In history major events was happening like once a decade on average, sometimes once every few hundred years but once LP era began it's every month something happens because of rance.The entire sengoku conquest only took a year, while before that japan was in constant war for generations. And sengoku is relatively long in the timeline because some games only last for like a month. Oh yeah, he also killed the holy beast orochi who was there for thousands of years undisturbed and invincible. In like one turn.Characters can only powerup and get strong while they are in party with rance. Otherwise 85% of the time they stay on the same level as years before.I know it's all for gameplay convenience, but there is so much convenience that it's getting hard to suspend disbelief.

Most of the other powerful people in the setting are either tied to militaries like Rick or actively have other responsibilities like Poron which means they can't just act unilaterally and do what they want.
I know there is no "canon" way to play sengoku, but realistically speaking it's most likely oda first subdued weak one province trash around them thanks to the relatively better start and rance being good at fighting at small scale battles. This allowed oda to beef up a bit before they could try and tackle more dangerous targets like uesugi, who are good at stalling but not that amazing against direct brawl plus the incident with kenshin crippling their military. Tenshi sect is numerous but not trained for combat, they are not military people tho it's miracle that even more people didn't deserted because of that. When it's time to face mouri oda should be very beefed up thanks to uniting 1/3 of the country already(and the most profitable and fertile parts realistically speaking) and mouri is not even a "country" country they are more like super mega big warband. Everything makes sense to me except the takeda. I don't see a realistic way how oda could tackle takeda in direct fight without at least unifying the central parts and subduing tenshi first. And rance can't really do shit to takeda generals, maybe he can beat them one-o-one but they are never gonna be alone since this is ongoing war. Unless assasination of shingen is cannon, then it sort of makes sense why takeda crumbled(also I still don't understand what the fuck is shingen, a living suit of armor or something?)

Hey so I'm a bit of the way into the magnum campaign for Quest and I feel like I'm going fucking insane- Quest 174 has an encounter with 2 Z Guardians that basically wipe my party as soon as they get their turn, including Rance himself. Only two characters in my party are above level 40- Rance (43) and Kibaki (41), do I just need to keep grinding until I can use the level 50+ equipment the game is starting to drop? Is it even worth playing or should I just look up a playthrough for the Magnum campaign story content before starting IX?

I finished Evenicle, did almost everything without a guide but I missed one CG and some other stuff, so I'm going to try finishing up now.The story had a few lows in chapter 6 but was overall pretty good, the ending was especially nice but it has a very minor cliffhanger setting up the future entries. The MCs fighting to unite the worlds together sounds kino and seems like it could end up with a situation where all the protags of the individual games fight [antagonist] in the final entry but Evenicle 2 released in 2019, this series is either on hiatus or dead ;_;Like I said I'm interested in the fandisc and Drapeko but I've been lazy with my Japanese reps recently so I definitely can't read them yet, I'll save them for the future and probably post about it if this general is still alive.
