Radahn actually manages to mix the vision obscuring effect problem with the overtuning problem to create a truly awful fight. Messmer, Midra, Romina, and arguably Metyr are the only good fights.

First realize that if it's not-humanoid or some special attack (weapon gets all glowey and/or unleashes an AOE), you probably can't parry it.Second, only parry with the buckler or Carian Retaliation. Just finished the DLC today. I really enjoyed it, especially the Gravesite Plains, Shadow Altus and Rauh. I guess this is what Miyazaki meant when he said the DLC would have some areas that try to mix the "overworld" with "legacy dungeons". Rauh specially felt like a legacy dungeon that you do with Torrent. If they do open world again for their next game, I hope the openworld will be more like Gravesite and less like Cerulean Coast or god forbid, Cerulean Coast (red). Those looked a lot like the worst parts of vanilla ER, art direction notwithstanding.Favorite boss overall was probably Messmer, he was to most satisfying mechanically to fight and learn. Shout-out to Dancing Lion, Metyr and Romina, they were awesome spectacles.I also decided to keep a tally of how many tries it took to beat all the main bosses, to see how aligned I am with what other people have trouble with. Fromsoft are genuinely losing their touch IMO. Most of the bosses just have fighting game normal attack cancels into specials for some reason, and no recovery on said normal attacks too. It's obvious anyone can beat any boss, but it doesn't make the fights good. I only enjoyed Midra in the entire DLC and maybe Rellana until she showed me the meme moon attack just as I said "wow, this elden ring boss doesn't have full arena-sized AoE? that's strange" and then she does a move that's more of a fucking meme than waterfowl despite being a normal fight otherwise. It just feels tedious and designed for you to lose your patience and cheese everything. I feel the same way about a lot of base game bosses. The way they increased "difficulty" is by turning the game into a bullet hell midway through a boss fight and it just doesn't work and it feels like shit to play. Bloodborne and Sekiro still have the best boss designs in terms of movesets and difficulty. Elden Ring is genuinely just lazy as fuck. Every time I found a new boss in the dlc I automatically assumed they had a projectile and a bunch of AoE, and I was always right. With the complimentary infinite flailing combos on top of that too, of course. I'm done ranting. I hope fromsoft goes back to making one-off games that are actually fun to play long term like they used to do and elden ring isn't gonna be their standard from now on.

Just got summoned for Radahn at rl 30. Host blocks the first arrow with shield, takes 99 damage - I keep running to boss. Another arrow, another 99. Third arrow, 99 again.
