>What the heck is this
/indie/ is the general for all indie games, such as Age of Decadence, A Hat in Time, Axiom Verge, Baba Is You, Battle Brothers, Card City Nights 2, Cave Story, Civilization, CrossCode, Cultist Simulator, Darkest Dungeon, Darkwood, DashBored, Dead Cells, The Desolate Hope, Disco Elysium, Environmental Station Alpha, FTL, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Knytt, LISA, Lobotomy Corp, Loop Hero, Machinarium, Middens, Monolith, Monster Train, Noita, OFF, OneShot, Rimworld, Rain World, Slay the Spire, Starsector, Subnautica, Sunless Skies, Underrail, VA-11 HALL-A, Yume Nikki, etc., as well as other games that just don't fit in any other general such as Atelier, Pillars of Eternity, Rayman, and Valkyria Chronicles. /jrpg/ is welcome. Idle, roguelite, shmup, 4x / RTS / city-builders, and RPGMaker games are cool too.

Mobile or consoles, Flash or Unity, freeware or early access. This place is a home for the indie game community and indie and obscure games that don't have a home. So be free to talk and share all your hidden gems, forgotten games and starving devs here.

>Can I talk about games that already have a general?
We mostly discuss games that are not popular enough for their own threads, however, all indie games are allowed. So talk about them if you want, but don't overdo it since you already have other generals for that.

Sorry games can't do miracles

Well. Back in the day MMOs used to be great for that, just like the whole internet was. But now every nook and cranny is filled with all kinds of normalfags instead of like-minded individuals.
How can kids these days make friends if they don't conform with the most braindead mainstream? No idea. Find the common niches others like you use for escapism. It's probably not going to be in indie games. Good luck.

What do you think of the Steam game Space Food Truck?
https://store.steampowered.com/app/397390/Space_Food_Truck/
I'm part of a 3 man co-op group that gets together to play a variety of games, mostly stuff like Age of Empires 2 and Factorio or whatever else we feel like playing at the time, but Space Food Truck is the litmus test for new applicants.

Nope. The fastest megabase runs are over 10 hours long (segmented). It would technically be possible in multiplayer since multiplayer's limit is literally in the thousands but no one has attempted it yet and the game starts to really struggle on top tier computer at around 100 players. This would assume NG+ MP custom ruleset. The current world record for just finishing the game in solo is over 2 hours, the record for all achievements (the biggest one being mass production 3, which is more or less a requirement for a megabase) is over 4 hours long. The speedrunning community decided that MP would mean maximum 8 players and those runs are actually pretty fast. Less than 1 hour.
But for fun, if we assume a perfectly synchronized team (literally a neural network) on an endlessly powerful computer that would never run into UPS issues, all in lan. Then we can assume that starting with a free 65k tier 2.5 crafting machines (because that's literally what the engineer is, a walking crafting machine with 1 speed that can't make engine by himself), it would perfectly be possible to get a megabase going under 4 hours by pure brute forcing. No biters and max resources would be a wise idea. This would make some absurd choices viable, like handcrafting tier 3 modules. If everyone crafts a t3 module at the same time, it would take 8.5 minutes but give 65k t3 modules. Or over 7700 t3 module per minute.

>But for fun, if we assume a perfectly synchronized team (literally a neural network) on an endlessly powerful computer that would never run into UPS issues
No reason you couldn't run that on modern hardware at 1/3600 UPS or however slow is necessary, and then speed up the result.
Just gotta develop a factorio-speedrunning neural network. Easy peasy right. Are there even any headless factorio bot clients? I also have my doubts that wube has dedicated any effort towards optimizing or even testing the netcode to support unrealistic number of players anywhere near the limit of 2^16, so there might be unexpected issues beyond "throw more compute at it"

dfo is dungeon fighter online, or dungeon n fighter in korea, or arad senki in japan, it's a sidescrolling beat em up mmorpg, but dungeons are limited to up to 4 player co-op parties, though there are raids that pseudo allow for more players involved, but everyone is basically just in their own instance of it (iirc), pvp can go up to 8 or 10 players though, but it gets to be chaotic and the pvp is already pretty janky to begin with, so
mabinogi is, or was (when i was playing it last year or so) shockingly alive, and most of the players in it seem to be newer players instead of crusty old veterans from 2009 (though there are still some holdout lifers from beta there), mostly everyone is hanging around events or dunbarton, but i swear sometimes it's like you can't go anywhere and spit without someone random or 4 of them just being there for whatever reason, unless you can find the truly remote places that no one ever goes, even when i was rafting there was a couple people somehow in the river in an animal transformation and faffing about
the nice thing about all of those games is they have both the paper doll element, and have actual serious gameplay aspects to them, unlike something like say runescape, where the gameplay is more boring than watching paint dry so people only "play" it to paper doll
the point is because of this the playerbase is more evenly spread between male and female and is more open, whereas runescape has a very bizarre and unwelcoming meme culture in comparison

Not System Shock or a shooter, just a detective walking sim with player choices that supposedly impact the story. There are investigative mechanics, but so far they've been very repetitive and ultimately straightforward despite looking cool.

>Reconstruct section of crime scene in 3D with a brief minigame that includes pressing the mouse buttons
>Fast-forward or rewind the crime scene to the yellow mark indicated on your wrist's timeline
>Going to that yellow spot on the timeline creates a bubble, enter that bubble and search for the deeper point of interest
>Might have to pull out a tool to trace the steps or bullet trajectory, which has you just following the trail until you're doing the same above steps again

After the first investigation there's a sequence where you analyze all the clues and facts of the case and piece everything together in an interactive way, that was more demanding than the actual on-scene investigation. But the game's only made me do that once.

Individuals. The average person is nowhere near that skill level.
Less than 10% of all Noita plays have won at least once according to Steam.

That's how I got my first win at least.

Fair.

Though I will sperg on you a little: Only 71.2% even got to the coal pits.

Like basically every steam game it seems, a lot of owners never even pop the game open / bother playing past a few minutes. Games with "yay you opened the game!" type achievements have awkwardly low unlock rates.

Yeah, this.
Arguing from steam cheevos statistics is a fallacy. Most games have way more activated keys than players.

Mostly because of its classic Finnish crypticness when it comes to secrets and unlocking other parts of the game, the wand building autism that requires a lot of meta knowledge to make properly viable and the fact that so much content requires a fully clean run without dying with lots of intricate steps, and due to how deadly some enemies can be (especially in regards to you having lower health than them and needing to luck out on good wand/spell rolls to get good enough damage), dying is actually very easy to do unless you play like a paranoid schizophrenic
Still very fun, but I can see why people would piss and shit themselves over it
>>
>>486795347
I've killed myself so many times with that thing... If you point it at a wall that's too close to you, you will die. This includes blacked out walls / single pixel walls that are too hard to see. Your wand pushes back into you and then the plasma starts too close.

Were you aiming down and to the side? I've ended up slipping just a little, enough to push me into the plasma.
>>
>>486804145
No, I was aiming up at like, a 75 degree angle. But thank you for the detail about not using it too close to walls. I think that was what did it.

Extremely niche stuff that targets my particular flavour of autism. Like with Settlements, Merchant of the Six Kingdoms, etc.
>>
>>486822108
I'd rather have lower than higher producition values.
Often indie devs who are met with initial success start wasting undue focus and money on improving visual quality to sell more copies, but that comes at the cost of development speed, gameplay and overall quality.

Depends on what experience you're looking for.
HK is a more of a DS inspired game, focused on exploration and where upgrades play a significant role in your combat efficiency. It plainly has more content.
NS is closer to Sekiro, a more linear game with less obfuscated story where your mechanical skill is much more important.
I personally enjoyed latter more because it had less backtracking, better bosses and more appealing characters with story.
>>
>>486824897
Thank you for your contribution!

>>486825292
>less backtracking
That point might actually seal the deal. Not really a fan of it in metroidvanias.
>>
>>486825796
Yeah, NS is a very linear metroidvania. You have a few divergence points in earlygame and lategame, but at the end the order in which you explore regions doesn't matter much and levels aren't fuckoff huge, so they're pretty easy to go through once you've explored them.
>>

Played the updated Forgotlings demo. Combat is still rough, but I'm enjoying the exploration, and how combat encounters seem to be designed around scoping out things first before just running in and button-mashing, with stealth opportunities. Also getting a taste of player choice and morality decisions. The optional board game is pretty fun.

Voice-acting so far isn't as consistent as Forgotton Anne. And this is a nitpick, but I miss all the environmental foreground/background layers you can travel between. I always thought that made the level design in Anne stand out, the settings felt real. But I understand why it's reduced here, this has combat and a lot of platforming, whereas Anne just had puzzle-solving and some platforming. Either way, I'm looking forward to it. Seems like their design philosophy has stayed the same; it's a story-heavy game that's accessible yet doesn't make the gameplay experience too braindead or samey. By contrast, I just finished >>486720947 and that game didn't try to do anything special at all with the gameplay or level design.

Been a long time since I played Hollow Knight, but I don't remember the backtracking being bad. Usually you could use the fast travel to get reasonable close to wherever you needed to go.

i'm saying that because 1) it's just another storefront, and 2) it is (or was, idk if they're even really doing indie exclusives anymore) a nice way of funding a developer and making sure they were able to actually finish what they wanted to make. console exclusives are and have always been a thing. if you're that desperate to never use their store then pirate the game. i don't think it's all that bad when developers take the guaranteed money to finish the game and make sure they get some profit. it's a lot, LOT better than devs like supergiant and megacrit making smash hits on their first game yet releasing their second in early access anyway to milk consumers

1 - overemphasis on "secrets" to the point that some of the breakable walls blend in so well you're not finding them without a wiki, especially at the speed you're usually traveling, and it's not like Dark Souls where you'll have in-game messages pointing them out
2 - massive amount of back-tracking
3 - most of the npcs lacked character and no option to kill them
4 - those shade barriers you dash through felt incredibly out of place as ways to gate access

I like their novel ways to implement gameplay mechanics, which indie games tend to excel in because they aren't obligated to follow cookie-cutter methodology as to please stockholders, whom expect predictable profits which translate to reusing mechanics already premade as to save cash on r&d.

While there is a lot of slop in the world of indie games, it make the gems shine even brighter.

>Mfw reading the seething itt over Noita filtering non-autist

Lol, lmao. Nha to be truthful it can be insanely unfair, ie what used to be the go to health orb has become a noob trap due to the new insane boss who spawn there, but you can become strong enough to defeat it easily if you know what to use, hell if you're lucky you can trick it into shooting frisbee chainsaw which make it kill itself pretty fast.

Also the liberty given to the player is amazing imo, hardly any other game would give you the opportunity to make magic boosted nukes that obliterate everything in a screenwide crater, yourself included.
>>
I saw this game at one of the Japanese Indie Expos some years back but never looked into it. Gematsu posted the new release date trailer and it caught my eye, so I just tried the demo. Very soulful and charming, half a kind of Katamari Damacy, half rhythm game. The music should be way better for how crucial the rhythm game element is, but it's mostly serviceable.

Games with a half / half mix of story + gameplay are wasted on me. If there's a high enough ratio of gameplay for me to get wrapped up in then I get too invested and half the story goes over my head. I really need one or the other so I can focus on just that.

I tried the fight like 3 times and dropped the game.

I'm leveling up a necromancer in Grim Dawn for the third time.
Help.
>>
>>487025261
Why, what happened to the first two?
>>
>>487025454
First one was Arcanist + Necromanger. It was good until the second part of the game, then I stopped playing.
Second one was Necromancer + Occultist and it was good but don't remember the build I was doing.

What I don't know if move the items from my second necro(which inherited some from my first) or grind a new set.
Also still have to play the second DLC area and I only have one +50lvl character which is my second necro. Have like a dozen of low level toons with different classes.
>>
>>487025261
That's okay, anon. It's not your fault that it's the best class.
If you want a fun run with it, go Necromancer+Demolitionist. Spectral Binding and Vindictive Flame both trigger on any enemy striking you. You just stride through crowds and let them kill themselves.
>>
>>487025848
Anything below max level is low level. Sadly the second expansion isn't as good as Malmouth.

Have you decided on your secondary class yet?
Or gimp yourself by remaining pure necro?

Tried sexy brutale cuz I love time loop and murder mystery puzzle games. Played like 20 minutes and saved the first 3 guests, it's a toddler game completely on-rail without actual puzzle, deduction or exploration. Just uninstalled when I realized it wouldn't get better than tutorial mode. Also very lame controls and aesthetics. First game I drop this year.
>>
>>487029994
I finished the game, but I when I realized that the game just reveals to you the entire schedule for all guests and staff after a specific story point, I was really disappointed. Also, the twist sucked ass.
Still a good game, imo. Just wish is was less linear.

Can of Wormholes in the top row right hand side, it's quite possibly the best puzzle game released in ages with ingenious design of knowledge checkpoints that let you make "accidental" discoveries which make you realise you saw these things and situations earlier and could use them to beat older puzzles in different ways to unlock more stuff.
Really rivaled only by Isles of Sea and Sky, and A Monster's Expedition. That's my opinion at least.

12 Minutes was weird. Certainly more interesting than the other game. Really enjoyed the "process" of figuring out the loops and mystery and experimenting with different scenarios, so for me it delivered on that for the most part. Got all the way to obtaining the final revelation and it had fun, clever moments. But got stuck at triggering an actual ending, it turned into frustrating trial and error and I just got frustrated with the time wasting repetitive bullshit like clicking through repeating dialogues, setting up conditions again and again and having to wait through events, that's when the time loop concept works against the game, or better design would have let you fast forward or something. After looking it up the trigger is something I thought about, but didn't know how to do because it's an obscure interaction that's never really hinted at. The story itself is surprisingly edgy, I appreciate edgy, I appreciate the game trying to be weird instead of safe, but it's just the cheap kind of edgy so it just becomes laughable because I don't believe in the characters and situation, I just see the writer trying too hard. It's the classic thriller issue where figuring out the mystery is the fun part but the reveal is always just a pretext and full of convoluted asspulls and cheap twists. So good game but good for the time loop stuff itself, fun initially but some design and writing issues, really shat itself at the end.

just make red ammo
if there's medium biters out surely you have steel and copper set up in bulk
>>
>>487139572
First off, you should go to /egg/ for technical conversation about factorio. You won't find many players here who cares about the indepth math. Second, your math is completely wrong. Turrets use 2 multipliers when you upgrade ballistic damage. Both multipliers are applied multiplicatively. That means that those 5 base damage actually are 7.2 damage (1.2*1.2=1.44, 5*1.44=7.2) since the first two physical projectile damage upgrades are more or less free. 7.2-4=3.2, 3.2*0.9=2.88. A medium biter has 75 health so you would need 27 bullets. A yellow ammo magazine (not clip) hold 10 bullets. The firing speed upgrade is also mostly free for the first two levels so that's a 30% increase. Meaning that your actual dps would be 13*2.88=37.44 per turret. This is why turret creeping is still viable against medium biters. How the hell do you even end up with medium biters before having a red ammo setup anyway? They don't show up until 20% evolution. Even in deathworld, you would have red ammo by the time medium biters show up.

Also, there is no minimum damage per shot. The game handles decimal. If a flat damage reduction would put the damage below zero it uses a different formula instead. I'll keep it short but the actual un-upgraded yellow ammo damage against a medium biter is 0.9 so it's actually 84 shots to kill. There are 3 possible formulas depending on the flat resistance and the raw damage. If the flat resistance+1 is equal or superior to the damage, it uses the second formula except if the damage is 1 or less, in that case it uses the third formula.

i can't even tell what game you're referring to because you're so retarded and dipped in so many layers of irony to seem cool that you can't speak properly
lunacid has nice areas and a good overall atmosphere but playing the game is a chore. the combat is complete garbage and the actual exploration of those areas is made terrible by the fact that there's no real sense of progression save for 2 or 3 areas. everything looks the same and you just feel like nothing you're doing matters until you suddenly come across a new area and it's time to abandon the one you're in
good luck with your mental deficiencies anon
>>
>>487212101
yea, the combat is pretty bad. not to mention that there's only 2 bosses lmao. the final boss invalidates almost every build so you have to use that one ice spell on it, and the vampire boss is extremely lame because you don't even kill him in the end since he's basically just the developer's cringe oc (if you read the backstory/lore to him). there's a couple optional bosses, but only one that feels like an actual boss and not just a big enemy, which is the horse rider, and he's just a dps check while you chug healing. seriously disappointing

Been playing Starsector, having a blast. Recently conquered the Diable Avionics mod faction which came with a set of custom ships.

I get the feeling custom factions fuck up the economy. I'm running the UAF and Diable, mainly just for their ships, but they are always top suppliers for most commodities. Do they increase the market cap at least and make their inclusion worth while?

You can put your own music in folders and then you can play them in-game. But only for very specific audio formats. You're SUPPOSED to be able to have them automatically replace the existing awful music based on context (battle, ambient, danger, bar, etc) but I've never managed to get it to work.

Its the simulation that gets me. You're not the center of the universe. And they thought of a lot, like if the hegemon are coming to inspect your colonies for AI cores, you pull them all to doge the inspection, they still know and get pissed off. Also if a Hegemon or League fleet pulls you over but you have a bunch of friendly ships near by you can tell them to fuck off.

I killed a League Blockade of my planets by taking out the supply ships rather than facing the fleet directly. Was good stuff.

And then you can get super autistic about your ship loadout. Well, I say you can, but you have too or else you'll have a terrible experience.

>>487261550
I have done a while back. Just got back into it recently.

>>487256989
Most new faction blueprints come in bulk. It doesn't contaminate it too much. Though was really funny when I found the entire UAF November catalog. The OP Super caps are just too expensive to build though.
>>
>>487263241
>You're not the center of the universe
>too expensive to build though
i have a feeling you don't actually know how to play this game
it's so ridiculously unbalanced that you can establish a colony in the first cycle and never have any issues. smuggling is so profitable that there's no reason to do bounties, missions or legitamate trade. there's no need to abuse economy if you can just do eouchou bres - drug runs over and over again.
>>
>>487263752
NTA. But bounties have been broken in terms of pay out for 3-4 years.
I up the pay x2 manually if I want to profit for them.
>>
>>487263992
bounties were never viable unless you went for high-threat special contracts. being able to generate more money in a 5 minute round trip than going into some uneexplored deep shithole, and then spendding supplies on repairing and deploying ships, and flying back.
unless alex completely guts the market simulation, there's no point in doing them unless you constrain yourself into a specific playstyle.
>>
>>487263752
Each colony can only have one heavy industry/orbital works

there is a limit to how much value these can make each month.

So yes, you can earn enough easily if you know what you're doing, but if you're running off a couple of heavy industries and orbital works it will still take time.

The Solvina from the UAF mod comes in at about 100,000,000 credits. if you get 2,000,000 credits of production, thats still 4 cycles to produce. I've played this playthrough for about 40 hours and have only just gotten to cycle 206+7, and as my shit grows larger more and more of this play time is spent micromanaging my fleet's load outs and AI cores in my colonies.

>>487264679
Did Nex or Alex fix the conga of punishment fleets when you have colonies and are like 2 cicles in?

I gave out playing like 2 years ago because I was tired of having to babysit my colonies all the time without opportunity to raid/explore because every faction sent fleets all the fucking time.
>>
>>487264679
If you're playing cheatmods, you should adjust your config accordingly like you adjust fleet size and battle size. Remove the colony limit, if you don't want to wait you can also just buy half of the sector's profitable planets by dumping ai cores for reputation.
>>
>>487264889
I ran into an issue, but I don't think it was an issue with the mod. I decided to raid the Diable in an attempt to wipe them and made the market more dynamic (IE Make more money off harvested organs), originally thought they only had the one colony but was gravely mistaken.

So retreated and holed up for a bit to deal with the retribution fleets and invasion attempts, then the conflict died down, so I decided to attempt to steal the Sychatron Core from the Diktat. Failed, pissed them off. At the same time the Tritachyon crisis proced and they sent a massive mercenary fleet.

Was a good time trying to manage that, quickly earning enough to afford a defense fleet. But they hit a wall with war fatigue eventually and went home.

I did get that Sychatron core thoughtHegemony then went to war with the Diktat, and I ran around system to system like a mad lad, collecting enough marines to do a raid.

Colony Crisis builds up a little too fast for my liking, but you get a good 4-6 months between.

>>487265090
Define Cheatmods, because I am using Nex and some graphical tweaks.
UAF ships can be a little OP, but they are a lot of deployment points too. For the Automata carrier its like 60 DP
>>
>>487265710
>a little OP
>a little
they can only suck if you don't know how to build them
otherwise they just rape everything. lane ships being on-par with unique modded/vanilla ships is being a cheatmod
>>
>>487265897
I'd say unless you;'re fucking around with the supercaps you probably get a 20% markup on your deployment points.

Can't speak for the super caps though.

regarding Cuno in DE
He's actually a pretty well developed partner. the idea of Cuno being in the same scene with the deserter sounds so strange and as someone who has done both runs I still feel surprised he's in the deserter scene. Overall Kim is the better partner for the ending since he's been with you the whole game and the history you can build with Kim makes that ending so fulfilling, also Kim can take a picture of a phasmid while Cuno can just say "trust me" when he and harry sees it.

Cuno's appearance with the RCM showdown at the true finale of the game is amazing though and proving the phasmid exists with him is really something because you are trying to explain that a mythical giant bug is the true cause of the killer's motivation that no one else has seen before and the people who seen it are both ex (determined) drug addicts. Also Cuno like Kim can prevent Harry getting the worst possible ending by calling the RCM, Wild Pine Mercs, Hardie Boys and the rest Faggots and then tells the Precinct 41 people to suck his dick.

Also the deserter scene with cuno isn't as expansive compared to Kim but cuno is way more assertive and the deserter respects him and actually responds to Cuno well mannered even when the kid is being rude and aggressive to the guy.

Overall I'd say getting Cuno in your run organically is still a based experience and getting a new partner and it being Cuno for the finale is like 3-5 in Ace Attorney where you play as Miles Edgeworth or when you play as Vergil or Dark Pit in their respective games. Idk what to call those moments other than a playable character/supporting partner being replaced for a finale/near finale but I always love that shit especially if the UI changes.

I'm fucking 33 and live with my parents and I still get girls, up to the point where they figure out I'm a loser. Your looks only bring them in, its who you are that gives them reason to stay. If you are broke and they leave it means they weren't attracted to you as much as they were attracted to what you could do for them. Never stoop so low that you'll bribe your way into a woman's heart because the moment you stop or put your foot down she'll leave.

>1: Be attractive
If you work out and wear nice clothing most women will at least give you the time of day. If you live in america the bar for being attractive is so low unless you are going after the top 10% of women. I'm fucking overweight but because I do landscaping, tanned, I'm average looking at best (the beard actually helps jump me to above average), and I have a "built dad bod" body there's a lot of women who will flirt and talk to me just because I'm not hideous. It's doable it just takes a year or more of work and suffering to pull off and even then you'll only suffer for a month or two until you get use to it. Then its all work.

effort doesn't equal to rewards because life is not a videogame and that is why life sucks

another thing is that not every problem has a solution, because life is not a controlled environment where the obstacles are designed for you to overcome, if you have issue with the plumbing of your house, the plumber can fix it, but that doesn't mean that there is a professional out there that will fix your mental illness or cure your cancer, there no magical recipe, gear set or XP grinding that will work equally for every single male on the face of the earth

That's a cool pepe.

I've barely played it til a week ago when I became addicted, but the balance seems solid. I focus on using sale items so my strategy varies a lot. iirc when I played before the badges were available at the start of the game, which felt weird although I only played a handful of games. Now they are random shop items which is better.

I only got the rainbow goobert at the second-last round (of survival) but it absolutely destroyed those two rounds. The pre-rainbow goobert build was not as bad as I expected. The gooberts can trigger eachother so you can make a double layer of 4 of them and trigger from both sides. The reaper snake subclass is great for it. The snake can trigger two gooberts at once and it procs fast, plus its pet bonus is quite good.

That's a lot of assumptions on someone and their lives. Fact of the matter is if you are a complete autist but you work out you at least have better chances than an autist that doesn't. >Your looks only bring them in
I didn't say otherwise. Your money helps keep them around, but I'm not talking about one night stands or anything like that I'm saying there's no good, viable path to finding and marrying a woman who's worth marrying. "Find a woman who's intentionally never seen the inside of a Nightclub" is a good start but that's like looking for a Unicorn if you consider they have to be single too, completely hunted to extinction.
The problem you don't seem to have realised is that dating apps and hookup culture have completely fucked up the dating pool and 4 and 5s are now demanding 8s and above only because they managed to get a date with one once so now they think that's their worth. Women no longer have to spend time around men getting to know them to get a date or anything like that and 80% of guys get ghosted and never get the possibility of a chance to even show their worth.

Even if you work on yourself both physically and mentally and look for a woman who "thinks about thinking" to a deep level instead of being someone who's emotionally driven and claims to be attracted to you mentally, she can and probably will STILL leave you if you don't make enough money. There is no path to marrying a worthwhile woman left that doesn't involve both a ton of effort and copious amounts of luck, this isn't your grandpa's dating pool any more.

>>487337263
>If you work out and wear nice clothing most women will at least give you the time of day.
That is being attractive, Einstein. Also it sounds like you're undervaluing yourself just a touch, I'd be willing to bet your genetics are at least in your favour and you simply don't fully realise it.
>>
>>487385819
There are always super rare exceptions but it's the dating equivilent of the financial advice: "Just sell your house and use the money to buy Powerball tickets, then rebuy your house with the winnings!"
It might work once, but it's entirely dependent on blind luck.
>>
>>487387082
Have you considered that maybe you are the exception?
>>
>>487388310
Have you considered looking at the average guys of the first world right now?
>>
>>487388831
Have you actually tried to measure the average, instead of trusting anecdotes from an American hamburger forum?
>>
>>487388984
Yes. I've also seen first hand that even a man at the apex that a man can reasonably reach, i.e not requiring being a billionaire or a person of great power or whatever, cannot find a woman worth marrying barring an unreasonable amount of luck to boot.
Got anything in there more than a trite "no u"?
>>
>>487388984
A single look at birth rates anywhere in the developed world will tell you that everything is daijoubu and things have only been getting better
>>
>indie games - pedoshit and looksism general
yep, dead genre
>>
>>487389808
>I've also seen first hand
That's also an anecdote. I got those too. My brother's kind of a fuckup, but he's still managed to get two kids with two different women. Not that he has plans to marry either of them. But the point was, if you're talking about the "average", then you can't really determine it just from what you see first hand. You need to find a random sample, and you need to be careful not to taint it with your own preconceptions.
>>487390075
That's just urbanization. Large cities have always had shit birthrates, patched up by people moving in from the countryside. Problem is, the developed world no longer has huge rural populations with huge family sizes. That's a big part of what makes it "developed".
>>
>>487391643
>but he's still managed to get two kids with two different women.
No part of this sounds like a stable and lasting marriage, so you've completely undermined your own argument. Doesn't sound like you're worth debating at all, point is there's no reasonable path to a lasting and meaningful marriage with a woman for guys without involving way too much luck. Or at least if there's one that doesn't require something unreasonable I've yet to find it or hear of it.
>>
>>487392764
Oh, I understand now. I thought you were just complaining about no gf, but it was actually marriage.
Well, the US has about two million marriages yearly, and statistically about half of them will last until death. I don't think the American economy generates a million billionaires yearly, so it seems like you're still wrong, at least for the "marriage" and "lasting" parts. Good thing you slipped that "meaningful" in there.

>>

>>
>>487396532
I doubt the validity of those figures. Anyway, the goal is to find a (preferably at least cute) girl to marry to share myself with mutual love and companionship for the next 50+ years. What I'm saying is that not for me or any other guy who isn't rich or powerful, there is no amount of "just work on yourself champ" or whatever that will give you a likely enough chance at it without massive risks. As I said before even the best man I can think of who went way beyond what 99.9% of guys will ever try couldn't manage to guarantee it and is still pushing that boulder up the hill. By comparison what chance does the average guy have? The whole thing is a spin of the roulette wheel and as is obvious sometimes there are winners, but as your own statistics point out there's at least 50/50 chance of losing your bet before you even scrutinize the other half more closely. Again, the juice is not worth the squeeze.

They're from Forbes. I just googled "divorce rate" and it was among the first results. https://www.forbes.com/advisor/legal/divorce/divorce-statistics/
It doesn't actually directly say that exactly half of marriages end in divorce, it just mentions that there is a "famous statistic" that says that, and clarifies that odds are somewhat better for first marriages and worse for successive marriages.
Maybe you have better figures. How many marriages are there really?

Rune factory 5 finally completed. The end was a slog. For some reason, it has the most indepth child system on the entire series but it's locked behind over a year of waiting. First you need to get married (which requires to be fairly far in the story), then you need to wait 20 days to be told to wait 14 days to be told to wait 22 days. Then you get your first child... Then you need to wait a full year, then 14 days, then 22 days and that's your twins. Most players finish the game by mid summer of the first year.
Also while I'm at it, Fuuka marriage tier: S for Stupid. (real tier would be B, she has good moments but she is legitimately retarded)
Overall, the game was mid. It wasn't bad, it wasn't terrible but it wasn't very good either. Next game is Rune Factory 3- Nah, I'm joking. It's gonna be littlewood in a few weeks.

Grim Dawn is the best singleplayer diabloclone.
Trading is PoE is a chore. To gear up you need to always be running trade macro, check your loot for good deals and be ready to drop whatever you're doing to trade, or have a friend around who's willing to sponsor your lazy ass. SSF is way too grindy because the drop rates are still balanced for competitive multiplayer.
D2 has been played to death. Only mods like MXL used to keep it fresh but they've gone bad too.

Standard RPG. You do stuff, you get exp, you level up. Attribute points and skill points. And mutation points unless you're a true kin in which case you need to hunt down cybernetic credits and pimp your cybernetics. Also upgrading your gear plays a big part.

Do Argyve's quests in Joppa village to get started instead of wandering off into god knows where. Grind any easy mobs you can. The Joppa questline keeps you in you fairly benign territory until you're sent to baranthrumites and golgotha. The entire salt desert at the west end of the map is pretty safe and there's Six Day Stilt up north, very useful town with lots of traders.

What do you mean? Switch which side of the belt the two miners output to? I wouldn't worry about it.
Besides, I wouldn't really bother outputting from burner miners on belt. In vanilla there is nothing stopping you from rushing for electrical miners almost right away.
Burner miners are just for getting you started

No, I meant if you were to try to limit how many belts you have. Wouldn't you be able to play with the two sides of the same belt to have raw material on one side, and processed material on the other?
I watched a video of a bloke, my mate Paul, and he tried to do everything with a single belt, so that got me doing ze big think.

Having two items on a belt is pretty much standard procedure, unless you really need the throughput of a whole belt. Though its much more common of having two ingredients for the same recipe share a belt on their way to an assembler then having a product and its ingredients share one.
Still not fully understand how that question relates to the sentence you wrote in >>487539561or the screenshot, but you do you buddy.

in your enormous wisdom, explain to me for what purpose you would want to "limit the amount of belts you have", and in what design would you ever want to put both materials on the same line, what benefits would that ever bring you, and what genius train of thought has made you do decide to do that... wait, i know the answer to the last one - you are an imbecile who is only capable of mimicking whatever the fuck shitty ecelebs say, without even a hint of self-awareness

I mean, I did play in coop with someone who showed me some pretty advanced bases, but I felt completely left out and totally useless, so I'm trying to figure out how it works on my own before we play together again.
My problem is that I can't seem to see big, I focus too much on feeding one manufactorum at a time when I need at least 4-5 to keep up.
I just don't want to play Factorio with a friend and spend my time blowing up aliens bases while he's the one building the base. Otherwise I should just stick to Alien Shooter instead.

Not the anon you're replying to, but what I did early on to keep easier track of my production was to create storage for every product I get, making sure to keep empty space around (2 of width for a belt n claws should be enough early game), then outfeed that reserve into belts that feed whatever you need produced. Also turn on the option that show you the icon of what is on that belt or in that storage, which seem to already be the case, so you can tell just by looking at the map which production line is lacking, ie if you see the coal storage meant for cogs isnt getting filled, then it mean the coal production isnt enough to meet demand, and you can apply the same logical assumption from every other storage. Also having storages/reserves make it so you arent forced to immediately upscale your production whenever you want a new product made, ie add a belt and 1 or 2 claws from reserve to new production line, rather than upgrading whole production line from the bottom all the way up.
>>
Don't die. I'm just playing Cataclysm: Bright Nights.
>>
>>487557781
I see. That might work better than my stupid, original idea of having 2 miners for every new production line.

N-No. No. I give up trying to figuring it out by myself, I'll do what the other guy suggested and do things differently. And google "furnace stack", I have not enough much iron plates and not enough iron ore, and I'm meant to start iron.
>>
>>487558828
Ergonomics and keeping track of what is going on is the real enemy in Factorio, not the aliens.

Also one last tip, if for whatever reason your production is enough to meet demand but its your outfeed belts cant furnish the demand, then until you unlock the faster claws you can swerve 2 outfeed belt into a singular one by making it so the second dump its stuff onto the unused belt lane. While I cant recall if its an issue with the first tier claws, I do know its a constant issue with mining drillz because they dump their stuff all in one lane, so the belts that come out the mines can be joined in such a manner as to reduce the quantity of belts present, while insuring the infeed belt for the ore storage has the maximum quantity of stuff coming in at any given time.

Havent played in ages tho, so my memories may be rusty.
>>
>>487562432
>Ergonomics and keeping track of what is going on is the real enemy in Factorio, not the aliens.
But shooting the aliens and making them bleed fills me with joy, whereas I cannot shoot ergonomics in the face. I'm just sad I can't craft sabots or darts to load my shotgun with. Or dragon breath.

As for the rest, yeah, friend did that, he'd use to produce from several belts, mix them in one or two, then split them over several sub-belts to feed different manufactorums.
Or whatever they're actually called.

At absolutely no point before, now, or in the future am I shilling for actiblizz. I'm simply saying that they amazingly didn't fuck up the remake pretty much at all when by all rights knowing them there should have been eight billion things wrong with it. Instead of everything being wrong, everything is either the same or a strict, positive upgrade which considering the company is a complete fucking miracle when normally pretty much every remake screws the pooch.

I can name one to two things that are a downgrade max, and both are basically a non-issue ultimately. I'm sat here inviting you to name any I can think of or that I don't know about. Instead you don't seem to be able to name any and all you can do is call me a troon shill. If you still can't name any now, then I'll assume there's no problems at all beyond the one (two) thing(s) I do know.

You want to build towards one or the other. Early on I usually prioritize AV over DV, mostly because you don't really find any good DV gear. When you hit mid/late game your resistances to elemental damage types is going to be more important than either and it's much better to not be hit at all.
You also want to think pretty hard about how much the stuff you're wearing weighs unless you're a 28+ Str monster. Qud showers you in loot and it is not at all convenient to take multiple trips to one place to gather shit.

Finished The Operator. It's a stereotypical 90's inspired conspiracy/paranoia thriller with a X-Files influence. Made by a single French dev.

I doubt many will play it. But I have been playing a lot of games in a similar genre this year and I ended up on the steam page before it released so it piqued my curiosity.

It's another one of these games where the interface is a fake computer OS, it is set in the 90's and you play as a glowie desk jockey analyst trying to solve a complex mystery investigation case (90's OS mystery is now its own genre with Hypnospace, Her Story, Roottrees... I also played a 90's point and click called Spycraft with a similar premise, and Superhot which is not a mystery adventure game at all but for some reason also includes the OS gimmick.)

What I crave most about these games is when they let you explore with a degree of freedom and let you 'feel like a detective' by finding, connecting clues and coming up with theories on your own. Hypnospace does this by giving you access to a full fake internet you can navigate and spy on people, Her Story and Roottrees are designed around note taking and search engine keywords to reconstruct a larger narrative.

Well this isn't this type of game despite the superficial interface similarity, in design it's a very linear and railroading narrative-focused game, you are given illusion of choices but none matter, and there is no complexity to the problem solving. There's no web browsing or search engine, you get a few clues per case but you use tools that do most of the problem solving and there's never any 'exploration' or 'eureka'. In substance I'd say it's closer to detective VNs like Phoenix Wright, where you just follow along the narrative, rather than lead it. It's not an unpleasant game, had a fun time with it but I'm also disappointed it barely scratches the detective itch.
