I know most of the world is either no guns or effectively no guns but I don't get why bolt action shotguns are beyond the comprehension of most people. Granted, they never became that huge, but they are decently popular for shooting slugs. The only odd thing is that they never really saw much military adoption considering pump action and autoloading shotguns existed by WWI, which is when shotguns started seeing major military adoption.
