At this point I think I would have rathered FGO2 didn't involve the world being bleached or burned. Chaldea has to act outside of mage rules and save the world, even as hostile mages and clock department try to get in the way, with Chaldea basically having to play Batman in a crisis only they understand, and every other department is trying to shut them down. Singularities and shit popping up in the world, various magic related issues, Chaldea has to act upon it. The enemy uses prominent mages in society to establish itself in the world, and has the prominent mages spread conspiraces about chaldea being a problem, which is why mages are trying to shut down chaldea. Like if some god or demon manifested in the world sought out important mage families offering them power and authority if it does what it asks, families like Yggdmillennia. The families gain authority and say clocktower needs to shut down chaldea; chaldea still ends up flying around in a storm border, trying to shut down the demons authority on the earth, as it creates zones of control or whatever. You end up working with the church near the end since they're opposed to the mages assosiation, and the church helps you cast away the demon that's gained a hold on the world. You get a fun sort of political stakes story without having to write 99% of humanity out of the story.The world always feels so empty and no stakes when the world is always so empty. Like there's nothing there, it starts to just feel empty after awhile because it is. You can write a story that's still somewhat high stakes that takes place with people in the world, where you can introduce new mages and enforces.Maybe its an idea for FGO3 at least, but I doubt Nasu wants to keep going.
