It's a professional that's going to charge for professional rates. They aren't just making one-off half portraits with a 3/4ths view of a character. They're working with multiple artists, producers, and the story writer to draw art that fits the story, themes, and scenes. Each important character will need concept art, full body sprites in multiple views and poses, h scene illustrations (sometimes animated), chibi sprites, advertisement illustrations, etc. That adds up to a lot of money when you have at least 4 heroines and side characters. No reason to do all of that work for side characters with barely any role in the story though

Just finished Riddle Joker and it left me feeling a little hollow and disappointed. I wasn't expecting some grand story but there was basically nothing to it. The h scenes were strangely low quality. There were a lot of absurd scenarios that made no sense and ruined it for me. The main one being Ayase being obsessed with her flat chest and almost all of her dialog being about it. Talking about how much she pads her tits and then we finally see it and her padding is just a wafer thin extra bra and she's not even close to flat has shapely small B cup breasts.
