Growing up I was in a non denominational Protestant mega church and my best friend happened to be a Catholic and originally went to the catholic private elementary school in town. There's this weird thing where some Protestants will use "Protestant" synonymously with "Christian" and they literally don't think that "Catholics" are Christians. But like, here's the thing you know, the Catholics are literally the founding church of Christianity... it's so silly. Even though I grew up in these church environments it was always super dumb to me that people would call my friend not a Christian. And it clearly hurt him too which made me more mad.
