Making Arcane canon was such a mistake, especially after the ruination event. It only stifles the creative freedom that made Arcane successful in the first place. Season 1 certainly wasn’t lore accurate. The writers at one point said killing champs wasn’t off the table, now it definitely is along with a bunch of other stuff in the name keeping consistency. There was a nice little sweet spot in the mid-late 2010s where the lore was good but as of late they’ve been ruining it and the rapid influx of champions every year is only making it worse. Then there’s Skarner where the blue haired writer described it as a “horror story” despite it being incredibly tame and basic. Remember Zac?I’d rather them not touch lore at all. Nor do I care about champ lore being consistent with each other. I’m fine with lore backstories being vague interpretations and that’s probably for the best. Just let television/film stuff be its own thing.
