I've been experimenting with a bunch of different combat mods, and seem to be torn between Blade and Blunt and Valhalla. well I just tried out infinity dodge and it's absolutely goated from a functionality standpoint. smooth and seamless as can be, but I still can't shake the feeling that it doesn't play very well with the rest of the game. enemy attack and recovery is still so fast that you have no time to land an attack after a dodge so dodging is mostly relegated to an emergency escape. Useful for surviving in combat but doesn't do much for the stalematey combat.I think conceptually I would most like a well implemented timed block/parry mechanic but I have a hard time getting past the fact that those mechanics largely devalue the block skill.

Running into a weird bug where enemy werewolves do no damage to me. Not sure what's causing it either since I have a number of combat/monster overhauls installed but I'm wondering if someone can help me narrow it down if they ran into something similar. If it's worth mentioning I also have a mod that allows them to disarm me and NPC's, so I'm wondering if it's the same mod.Also of note, they actually can damage and kill NPC's but for some reason they do nothing to me other than potentially disarm.

Everyone approaches it differently and if you're actually shooting for realism, a woman pretending to be a man and trying to get by as a mercenary if she's ugly actually makes sense, simply because marrying off a woman that's hideous, has no social skills, and no real talent for anything other than wrecking people would have no other prospects than to be a fighter. In a more "idealized" fantasy the beautiful daughter of the noble who has an interest in martial training and runs away from home to be an adventuring princess-in-disguise is equally valid. Basically I'm saying there's no reason to ban either character from existing, and frankly if you see too much of one thing over and over it's going to get old. So variety and creativity are welcome. As an old-school GM, I would never try to prevent someone from playing an ugly female character if they wanted to, especially if there could be an interesting (to them) way to play the game because of it. It's slightly different in media meant to have mass appeal where sex and sexuality trumps all, but the tv version of Brienne was popular enough, and she's homely as hell.

People talk a lot about why no one has made a true skyrim clone yet, and the usual response is that it's expensive and time consuming. Microsoft spent 69 billion dollars acquiring activision-blizzard, and tes 6 was announced over 6 years ago iirc. If anyone has the resources to try it, it would be them. Which begs the question, why haven't they? Why not take a risk and throw $1 billion into a new studio and give them a small experimental project to gain experience before trying to rip off skyrim?
