DAILY REMINDER TO NOT USE AIO UPDATER UNLESS YOU WANT TO FUCK UP YOUR SWITCH SETUP!

We will keep posting this to remind everyone. It should be renamed as AIO shitter instead.

If you can't be bothered to learn how to hack / update your switch setup, go here: https://github.com/sthetix/HATS
This is the easiest it can be without fucuking up like AIO shitter. It literally designed for people with 2 digits IQ.

Also, checkpoint is a piece of shit that doesn't even work with Animal Crossing and uses stolen code from JKSV.

Also, use DBI with MTP responder to install games direct from PC by just copy pasting the files. DO NOT use awoo, goldshit and especially tinshit.

as of now that's the better option for anything that isn't a PS4 or maybe a switch, doubly so if you specifically get a system to hack it. Unless your goal is to have fun hacking it more than playing the games i guess. Stuff like 3DS and vita becoming more expensive doesn't help either

If it's for local play and the hacked switch is blocking Nintendo's servers, you should be fine.
If you're paranoid, you can delete the wifi configuration on both consoles so you can use the local wireless without connecting to the internet at all.
I was about to suggest asking in the AC general as well because they might know more, but it looks like /acg/ died in the flood of gachashit (last thread seems to have been in May).

My slim PS3 showed me a "corrupt file system" error when I booted it. I tried to run the file system recovery option but it didn't work, so I assume the hdd is dead, since it took forever to complete and solved nothing.

I did a bit of reading, but just wanted to confirm if I can simply replace the old hdd with a new one straight out of the box and install OFW 4.82 like the guide says before installing CFW.
Is there any way to find out which firmware the console is on? It's probably 4.80 or 4.81 but I don't remember and I assume it doesn't really matter anymore.

No, they'd have to release a new revision of the motherboard to patch it because it's on the hardware level.

whats the point of hacking a dsi? you need the flashcart anyway? so you can just copy the games over
>>
>>491195107
A typical DSi doesn't need a flashcart, but having one with ntrboot on it makes it easy to unbrick and/or restore OFW on the console, or hack consoles with a broken camera.
Besides, an average flashcart runs games in DS mode, and playing DS games in DSi mode (with better framerate and faster loading times) requires DSi to be hacked (i.e. unlaunch installed, possibly bricking the console in the process).

I played Torna on both emulator and Switch (I emulated it because I have an unchipped OLED and didn't think I'd be able to get my hands on a non-scalped physical version of the game kek).
On the emulator it looked a lot better because it didn't need to use the adaptive resolution - or whatever it's called, basically the thing that lowers the resolution to avoid the FPS getting to PowerPoint presentation tier when there's a lot of shit happening on screen.
Framerate wise, I could easily get to 60FPS but it often stuttered when it needed to compile new shaders. If you manage to get a shader cache online, it helps reduce the stutter, but you'll always have some hiccups.
On Switch it *tried* to run at 30FPS but it dipped sort of often like a lot of other Switch games do, and sometimes it looked like someone smeared vaseline on the screen because of the resolution lowering every so often.
All in all, emulating wasn't butter-smooth because of the shader cache but if you're used to the FPS jank from an actual Switch then you probably won't have much issue with that.
Emulating also depends on your PC, but Yuzu runs surprisingly well even on weaker hardware. For reference, I'm running a Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon 6600 XT and 16GB of RAM. It's not a potato, but it's not amazing either.
>but yuzu development is dead
I'm sure people archived the last version, which is recent enough to play the Xenoblade games (including 3 and Future Redeemed, I'd guess).

>I'm running a Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon 6600 XT and 16GB of RAM
basically same (5 5600x, 6700 xt and 32 gb of ram) so i guess it should be good enough
>yuzu
yeah this is a full on /emugen/ question but now that i'm a it, isn't ryujinx good too?

>5 5600x, 6700 xt and 32 gb of ram
Yeah you'll probably only have the shader stutter for the most part then.
>ryujinx
It's good but it's more demanding than Yuzu because it tries to be more accurate while Yuzu "cheats" some stuff to get better performance. You can try both out and see which one you prefer.
Something I forgot about the shader cache: you have the option to use opengl (better for nVidia) or vulkan (better for AMD), but you'll have to check if you can download and use them right away.
I remember downloading shaders during the TotK leak period and noticing that some didn't work (so I had to build the cache myself as I played). I can't remember which emulator that happened on, but I think it was Yuzu.
Either way, check >>>/vg/emugen since they can probably help you out better.

Not unless you convert it to 1.75 TB, and it'll work for stock too. You'll need gentoo or any Linux distro that allows disk shrinking manipulation to do it, though.

I'd need to get a USB to SATA adapter.

The process seems a bit tedious, and from what I’ve read in that thread, people who have installed a 2TB SSD have mentioned it can be a bit unreliable. Plus, 2TB SSDs are pretty expensive, and I don't want to waste money if it doesn’t work well. I might just stick with a 1TB SSD for now.

I've seen many people posting about their Switch screens suddenly dying lately. Is this just a bad batch, or does it have something to do with the screen's lifespan? Most of them say they've never dropped their Switch, and from what I've heard, there's no way to fix it except by replacing the entire screen.

My Switch model is V1. Do I have the same risk? Can any experts here help explain?

Hi, I am having problems with my Switch: when entering the Emunand, I encounter the error std::abort (0xFFE) with the title ID 010000000000002B.
I tried everything i could find on the Net and I can't solve this problem, so I resolved to install a clean slate Emunand.
Now, I am a little lost at this point: I can access to Hekate , can't enter the Emunand, and i don't have any backup of the sysnand or emunand due to the old pc breaking down.
How do I exactly create a new emunand ( and backup everything, I guess)? I am on Atmosphère 1.7.1 and Hekate 6.2.1
>>
>>491723361
That error is caused by whatever 010000000000002B is. Did you try going to /atmosphere/contents/ and delete the folder with that ID?
If you still get an error then do a clean install with the steps in the guide (open the main Switch guide and Ctrl+F "clean install" - without the quotes, obviously)
>and i don't have any backup of the sysnand or emunand due to the old pc breaking down
Do you still have the stuff on your Switch? If you do then back them up to a different PC. If you already nuked everything when doing the "clean slate Emunand" then you lost whatever you had on your original emunand unless you can fix your old PC.
>How do I exactly create a new emunand ( and backup everything, I guess)? I am on Atmosphère 1.7.1 and Hekate 6.2.1
If you mean backup your sysNand to make the new emunand, then see https://rentry.org/BackupRestoreNAND
About creating a new emunand, see https://rentry.org/CFWGuides
>>
>>491727672
Thank you for your help.
> Did you try going to /atmosphere/contents/ and delete the folder with that ID?
Yes, the folder isn't there, i also deleted a save file from the SYSTEM folder that was related to the 010002B program but it didn't work.
>Do a clean install with the steps in the guide
I did what was in the guide and the same error came up, I think the problem is not on the SD files but in the Emunand partition
> If you do then back them up to a different PC.
I copied the actual SD files to my pc, should i do the same to the emunand? It's not clear to me if I can or should backup the emunand, as the hidden partition on my SD ( and how) .

So where do I go from now? Backup Sysnand, Emunand ( if possible), the delete the emunand and create a new one?

>Yes, the folder isn't there
That's odd.
>I copied the actual SD files to my pc, should i do the same to the emunand?
Sure.
https://rentry.org/EmuNANDNewSDcard explains how to backup a partition-based Emunand. I guess you could back it up onto your PC and then try to make a new Emunand on your SD card just to test if it works with a completely new one. If it does work, I dunno if you can just transfer the saves from the old Emunand to the new one or if they just won't work.
That said, I found https://gbatemp.net/threads/panic-occured-while-running-atmosphere-title-id-0100000000000002b.591345/ so I guess you could try that solution first (if you haven't already):
>EDIT2: Solved! For future you:
>title id 0100000000000002b is called erpt-sysmodule. That module has a save which resides in SYSTEM partition. That save got somehow corrupted.
>So to fix this:
>Get NxNandManager and mount your SYSTEM partition. Delete the file /saves/80000000000000d1. Done! That file will be recreated when the switch boots.
If you still have issues, then I dunno what else you could try.

Its actually simple. check the CFW page and it tells you which tools to put on your SD card. Then you can take a look at the individual steps regarding setting up your Switch.

>Also, where do you even get emulators for switch?
Used to be ez with freeshops. But most of them are closed now due to faggots downloading from them and putting them in their paid proshops.
If you simply want one size fits all, download retroarch for switch, and put folders on your SD card, simple as.

I got another question though. Like I said, I just got my picofly, do I still need to flash it? All guides talking about flashing are using a file(fw_2.73.uf2) from last year, so is a "new" picofly already flashed or do I need to flash it with that file also?

tinfoil is a title manager, it installs, deletes, and manages your switch's library
what you are referring to is
>shops
these are homemade servers (gdrive) that trannies on discord will charge you a fee to access
once you pay, you enter the shop link into your title manager tinfoil, and through the magic of web browsing, the title manager can access the drive and download a file directly to your device, then it can do what it does and INSTALL the file to your console

no they always did good, directs are always the talk of the town no matter what. Hell they did one on their museum like last week and it did more than a million views

>Either that or they have so few games to shill that they needed to do this.
iirc it's 40 minutes total (so 20 minutes each?) so that shouldn't be it either. Quality of course is not considered as usual but quantity shouldn't be an issue

i think they just did it cause of timing, usually they had indie+partner in the same overall period but still a week a part (so the indie one a tuesday and the partner one the very next tuesday) and maybe they can't do this now cause they're planning for another proper direct in september

Basically, you download some legit PSP and PS1 games (can be a PSP demo) to get a legit license file(s), then you forge a CMA "backup" of any PSP/PS1 game tied to that (another game's) license, restore it and Vita thinks that you own it.
Or you hack your Vita.

Well...kind of? Anon meant PKGj (which downloads the game files from the PSN servers).
>>is there a way to install psp games as easily as vita games or do i have to go through adrenaline?
You'll end up using Adrenaline no matter what, it's what actually runs the games.
You can go to PKGj and install PSP games from there, or you can download the PSP games' files (don't remember if they use ISOs or eboot files right now) and put them in the same folder that PKGj downloads them to.
You can also use AdrenalineBubbleManager to create bubbles on the Vita homescreen for the PSP games. I haven't used it myself but I've seen people say that running the games from the Vita menu somehow reduces input lag in Adrenaline.

Quick search had me stumble on https://github.com/Freakler/psp-camera_patch_lite and https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/RemasteredControls
Also found a pReddit thread asking a similar question and someone said:
>Hold the ps button, go to setting, then you will see the adrenaline menu, then go to the official setting, you can choose the button layout for the right stick.
I guess this solution depends on how the camera works in the games, but you can try it out with different games.

I have a 3DS that I hacked with whatever methods were common before the Freeshop got shut down, should I figure out how to rehack it with modern methods or am I better off leaving it be?

>>
>>492422896
i think you are already up to date as far as methods goes, you just have to update your setup
as for freeshop, there's hshop now but idk, it's easier on one hand but 3DS' speeds are very slow and it's faster to just download the game on your pc (also hshop) and with custom install you can install the game on the sd card directly from your pc, making installing it faster too

I modded my patched Erista a while ago to be honest, I also have no exact clue about the do's and don'ts.

Yeah, when you put it that way your right. It's easier to get a leak from a physical cartridge than hack Nintendos servers for the nsp.
>>
>>492548793
You need to boot into hekate and create an emunand to work from
>>
>>492545262
They work the same. The difference is that you can get into CFW with the jig while your friend needs the modchip.
The CFW running on both consoles is pretty much the same (just different versions if you haven't been updating your shit).
Check the guides in the OP, they have some useful homebrews (save backups, cheat menus, etc).
I don't think they have anything about save editors, so you or your friend are better off looking up ACNH sites to get more info on that.

>>492548793
>create emunand to use for pirated games and homebrew apps
>set up the stuff to block Nintendo servers on emunand (or just keep it offlne forever) so you don't get banned for the pirate / CFW stuff that you will install on it
>as long as you didn't install any pirated games or CFW apps on sysnand, you can use that to play online
>if you did install pirate/CFW stuff on sysnand at some point, then you can restore the backup of your clean sysnand that you (hopefully) created when you hacked your Switch, and then use that to play online
I'm oversimplifying it because there are some homebrews that you can safely run in sysnand, but you're better off not taking the risk of screwing it up.

Download godmode9 if you don't already have it, place it into your payloads folder, then use it to dump the game to CIA or CCI.

Don't do that unless you want to turn your Switch into a crashing machine.
Nintendo did something in update 17.0 that makes Switches with a blank prodinfo crash. AFAIK the current choices are DNS blocking (see https://switch.hacks.guide/extras/blocking_nintendo/ ) or using airplane mode.

how so? 5.05 to 7.55 are basically identical webkit exploit, only 9.00+ needed that usb thing but it's a lot more reliable from what i've experienced.
>>
>>492864567
11.0 also requires a specific network setup
>>
>>492864567
7.55 was literally the worst, first you needed to wait for the webkit exploit to load through at least a dozen of "not enough memory" errors, then the Kernel exploit had like a 1 in 3 chance to cause kernel panic, only then you can load the payload, which can also hang the system. Thank god for rest mode, so i didn't have to it so often, but what a hassle.

It's an isolated case which doesn't make sense from Nintendo's perspective. Sure, they can tell who's playing public dumps, but banning random anon's console achieves nothing. At least a ban wave for all public dumps is necessary to prove that they're serious. Which they won't do because it will prove that they can't detect private dumps.

maybe you just didn't update stuff correctly when you tried it back then

is 150 eurodollaridoos good price for a modded switch lite? (chip + hall effect sticks)

thinking about buying it to play jrpgs on when commuting. Steam deck is too bulky for that (takes up more space than my laptop probably, haven't held one irl, just going off my friends' experiences) and so is normal switch, although i would love an oled screen after using my vita for so long.
>>
>>493100994
that sounds too good of a deal, are you sure it's actually modchipped and with hall sticks? Are you buying it from a friend or something?
>>
>>493101075
well there's a pic with a seethrough case and hekate open. seller has good reviews as well. buying off an auction site. I assume the price is low due to low demand for such a thing here
>>
>>493100994
instant buy if in good conditions

>They will ban us in a few years I think.
No, but they will eventually shut down servers with PSP and Vita games which will be effectively the same thing.

>>493100994
It's banned, more than likely.
>>
>>493103095
>It's banned, more than likely.
yeah I am assuming it is, so I already asked about it. waiting for the response. I don't care about online anyways, only going to play singleplayer games and backup my saves once in a while physically
>>
>>493100994 (me)
fuck it yolo, bought it. will update once it arrives
>>
>>493106809
keep us posted, i'm curious about the sticks given iirc putting them on the lite is not as easy as it is on normal joycons

It's pretty easy though. I have an oled though, so I made joycons instead.
>>
>>493123339
Might have to swap the sticks on mine at some point, as well.
>sent my original joycon to Nintendo recently
>receive them back, presumably with new sticks
>note says they couldn’t duplicate my issue
That’s the biggest load of shit, and it kind of pisses me off. You had to finesse these controllers just to get the sticks back to neutral. Simply navigating to something on the Home Screen was a bitch. You had to disconnect them when playing without the dock because the drift would turn them on and fuck up whatever you were doing. I just don’t understand why they would lie about the troubleshooting they performed.

Assuming I have access to all of the methods, what is the preferred method? I haven’t dug that deep, but I haven’t seen pros / cons in my brief search.

What did the seller say about the ban?

To save money unfortunately.

that's what free repairs are about, or free anything to begin with. If it's free then they have to find ways to not do it. It's like the free customer support lots of companies have, it's free but sure as hell it'll never work, unless you are a soccer mom or manage to channel that same energy

AYIIIEEE are we finally getting to bump limit this thread?

Why is the download for firm 18.1.0 down on the firmware archive? Is there a reupload anywhere?
>>
>>493051180
>>493051571
Sony has so much data of what's on the Vita that they even know if it has homebrew installed: https://wololo.net/2022/11/03/the-amount-of-data-sony-keeps-about-your-playstation-activity-is-insane/
Pretty sure your worries are a non-issue but if you're so scared then just do what a lot of other people do: make a new account to use with the Vita and keep your main account for legit stuff.

>I just don’t understand why they would lie about the troubleshooting they performed.
To keep the few dollars they'd have to lose if they actually swapped your sticks for new ones.

It turns out all switch firmware files were taken down. Did anyone download the one for 18.1.0 before it went down? If not, is there a way I can dump the update myself?

before i recommend it to you, you should check if your eyes can handle it or not, because if you look in the archive there was an anon that i told to get dsi xl only for him to not like how the pixels look, so you should check that

what do I choose between emuMMC CFW and sysCFW to pirate games on my switch?
>>
>>493191118
emuMMC to do whatever you want, unless you absolutely don't care about online.
>>
>>493191647
ok lemme see if i got this:
to play online and legit with all the shit i bought:
>just boot the console like always
to play pirated shit
>use jig to get into RCM
>load exploit
>load into emuMMC
>no internet but play anything
>>
>>493200357
NTA but pretty much
Or you could boot into hekate set autoRCM and from hekate choose to launch into sysOFW (not CFW) for your legit stuff or launch into emuCFW for le "backups"

Ace Attorney Investigations when
>>
>>493203234
that would still require i connect my switch to my pc right? the thing is my boomer dad remembered we had pirated shit on the wii and wanted it on the switch but i don't want him doing complicated stuff
>>
>>493203861
yup, or you could use your phone as well with an otg adapter or cable
