I mean Venture, who is a shortrange brawler DPS, is considered a strong option into Phara now. That was unthinkable before the rework.So instead of dealing with heroes like Doomfist, Winston, Orisa, etc. (tanks people find oppressive) by tweaking their designs and balance to make them a little more punishable they just made counterswapping the end game. Counterswapping should NEVER be the endgame, it should NEVER be the meta, it should NEVER be the optimal playstyle. An option? Absolutely. The developers are extremely out of touch with the playerbase on counterswapping, despite running a campaign against 6v6 claiming that counterswapping was never a thing and that it won't be an issue. Then they acted like counterswapping IS Overwatch and that we should embrace it just a short few months later.So we agree on that.What I think is important is that there is no denying that the manipulative practices exerted onto us through engagement-focused matchmaking is being exposed by these philosophical failures of the developers. Turn every tank into an offtank like queen remove -100hp, put all main tank defensive spells on very longer cd for example rein shield/matrix should have 5-6 seconds cooldown before you can use them again. There you can have your "tank role" now. 2bh the role makes absolute no sense in an actual pvp game and tanks are probably the main reason why OW1 died.

finally after a lifetime of tanking and supporting I managed to grok wtf Im supposed to do as dps in qp and finish games as vastly top damage with carry performance. Something like my dmg is 30% higher than anyone in the server. Time to hit comp right? Well first game at plat 5 everyone is clustered the enemy has a mercy pocketed ashe and we win by the tiniest of margins and I felt I didnt carry for shit, I was top dmg but our soldier had similar dmg and the enemy dps werent far behind. Second game we lose to another mercy pocketed ashe and again I couldnt carry for shit. I guess comp its just harder huh
