Infinite ammo, infinite range, has both single target and aoe modes, can break parts, can move quickly with her dodge and her skill (which is a "dodge") and you can chain them over and over again because your dodge resets your skill cooldown. No matter what the stage calls for, Katya can do it. Single target DPS? AoE DPS? Parts breaking? Needing to be mobile while shooting? Katya does it all, and she does it all well. No need to worry about what your DPS character is capable of doing, because Katya does everything. Then I use her with Eatchel because Eatchel is also peak comfy. Doesn't matter what's going on in the level, Eatchel makes you invincible. Can also be seen as synergistic with Katya's stationary turret mode, but Eatchel just works and Katya also just works. Maximum comfy, stage agnostic setup. Then I think Kaguya is probably BiS support for Katya cuz Frost damage. Plus, bosses all have multiple phases on them now, which I think devalues 5* Mauxir a bit.

By not having a hitscan weapon, Katya can blow up any crystal on the stage from the starting platform in the current co-op without needing to be gatherer. For Esther it's definitely an issue, but Mauxir exists. Otherwise, I don't consider it an issue. I think it's a very fun mechanic to be able to hit an enemy that is running at an angle by leading with Katya's crossbow bolts, and like in my example for the current co-op and being able to hit all the crystals without being gatherer, I think that Katya (infinite range, never reload, single target or aoe) not being hitscan works in her favor as a bonus she has over other units more often than it is a negative. The negative side of it is literally just "skill issue" (outside of Esther). Then there's the fact that Njall even exists that gives Katya another point, though I've seen people say that Wyfe handles him pretty well too.Katya + Eatchel is just too comfy in any and all scenarios to beat.
