Cynically speaking, there is no real canon. Doesn't matter Sonic twitter, Ian Flynn, or anyone at Sega claims cause things like Sonic Boom show just how quickly they'll throw anything and everything into the wind. Call it a reboot or just a new brand, doesn't matter.The closest thing you have to canon is what is in the mainline games. Even then, they'll disavow things when they are inconvenient. Even things like IDW and the Sonic Channel stories, they'll be contradicted and ignored when its a problem. Case in point, Classic Sonic being able to grind in Sonic Superstars contradicts the Tails Anniversary Special.At least they got rid of Bean and Bark in the Fang mini so we don't have to ask why they weren't in Superstars. Still asking what was the point of putting the Warp Topaz in the Marvelous Queen.
