My favorite run so far has been the one where I only recruited Astarion. At first I wasn't sure I'd be able to do it, highest difficulty I've played on is standard. I played shadowmonk and he was the busted gloomstalker/assassin/fighter with the durge cape.But in the end, my durge and Astarion killed the brain together. Sweet, romantic, us vs the world sort of deal. 10/10 would do it again.

I think one thing that would help some of you regarding how things "feel" is to simply remember that the previous roll of the dice does not affect subsequent ones. It doesn't matter if there is a 0.01% chance of missing 5 times in a row, because when you sit down to roll the 6th dice, it's an independent trial and the previous trials don't matter anymore. In other words, previous dice rolls should not affect your current decision making. If something is a 70% chance, that's great odds. You're not going to do something different just because "I missed the previous 5 times". With that said, the classes that are good at said skill are the CHA ones, Barbarian (many options with Advantage to Intimidate), and Rogue (Expertise).It's entirely possible to play an 8 CHA Monk with no proficiency in CHA skills, but you're starting with a handicap. Remember that you can get a CHA skill proficiency from your background. Guild Artisan gives you Persuasion, Soldier gives you Intimidation, etc.
