Maybe some day a more hardcore game will be made with this engine but in the meantime we'll enjoy our high fantasy wish fulfillment.

The only content in act 1 that really 'needs' EA or third level spells is the Arcane Tower and Grymforge in the underdark, Githyanki Patrol, and the Creche (if you consider it part of act 1, which I generally don't, as its after a point of no return), aside from mentioned exceptions, past the Blighted Village pretty much all overland Wilderness content is tuned for levels 3-4. You absolutely can take a dip into another class and it won't end your build, but if it's unfocused, like Bard 1-2 is for Fighter, just be aware that it isn't giving you much in terms of combat until later levels, and to tune your EXP scouging expectations accordingly. Level 8 with 5/3 is where the Bard dip ceases being a meme, and the last few levels are honestly pretty stacked.Dex Fighter has a lot of room to spec into basically anything it wants, cause it needs less stats than any other build in the entire game. 16 dex and 14 con is basically all it needs, every point past that is pure flex, so sure, you could go deep Charisma if you wanted.
