This talk tempts me to start another account to see how far into the story I can get without rolling but I don't have the time.From what I remember, no one is actually forced to roll (outside of the introduction); it's just very appealing to do so.And why are people making such a big deal of the gacha mechanic as if spending is necessary? For FREE you get to dip into a pool of characters and are guaranteed a certain tier within x amount of rolls. The game is even generous with roll currency. It's cool to have several stronger characters but those aren't truly necessary unless one craves power and the game being a cakewalk (and ofc smitten with a character's design). Of my 270+ rolls, only 65 are from purchases (bunnies + clear drops) and they weren't even the reason I paid.

Reverse 1999 is probably one of the best story-driven games I've played. Gorgeous art, music and voice acting help make this game a real diamond in the rough when it comes to games of a similar genre. Though it is tied to a gacha system, a majority of content can be beaten with low rarity units and gacha currency is not scarce or difficult to grind.
