At what mod count does LOOT become not enough? Currently at 280ish, Expecting to be done at 400-500 mods. LOOT tells me which mods have compatibility patches for each other which is very good but I'm sure it doesn't do this for all, I usually write down the names of mods that have patches in the installer to reinstall later when I'm done. Anyway is there an easy to use semi-automatic thing automatically finds compatibility patches better than LOOT? Rant below, hide post if you don't want to see it.I just replayed Skyrim for the first time since like 2020 and honestly, I think I kind of hate the game now. When I was like 12 it was cool and exciting and had all the bing bing wahoo I found appealing but it's all faded. The quest writing feels really shitty and cheap at times, especially the way all major questlines force you to become the chosen one gigachad hero when you don't really deserve it. The college of winterhold is the worst offender, imo - you can do the whole thing while knowing a grand total of like 5 spells, with no magic skill above 20 - but all of the guild questlines basically suck your dick the whole way through.I also found myself getting irritated with the dungeon designs. None of them are really designed as if real people used them, as evidenced by the convenient passage back to the entrance located right after ever boss fight. It's especially apparent in dwemer ruins, which are meant to have been actual cities occupied by normal people at one point, yet which are all designed as funnels to point the player towards a leveled loot chest and an elevator. Dragons are also more annoying than I remember them being, I can't believe teenage me used to have fun fighting these things. Oh wow, frost breath. Oh no, it's doing its little fly-circle-then-land-kinda-far-away loop. Whatever. I found myself outright hating some of the VA work in the game. The female nord hero who fights with you in sovngarde at the end was especially annoying to listen to, and the part where you have to shout away the mist or whatever came off as cheesy instead of cool.One final gripe I have is the art direction, particularly for weapons and armor. It all looks like it's made of plastic. Definitely appealing to teenage me, again, but now it just looks ridiculous and LARPy. I'm overall disillusioned with this game and might never play it again. Somewhere I lost the ability to enjoy dumb fun, I guess.

Well, I moved my entire installation successfully to a new machine after some kerfuffing about, with a portable install instead of the bizarre global I had before. One drive is better than three. Made recovering somewhat questionableHad to run the Beth launcher (well, "had to") in steam offline to get the directx from local and eula checked off so I could run skse properly; definitely decoupling from the library function now that I'm doing management of the sortslight discomfort on the launcher fiddling with settings but not nearly as much as whoever decided left alt is the base sprint bindI also have to play on an old TV because my monitors don't like the ports I have, so I can't really see the frame improvements due to slight latency and refresh reasons900 seconds to make a new post on a new* IP goes to show that thread speedn't thread quality in any case; still ought to rangeban all phoneposters.

You don't need the armor perks that make you practically unkillable. Also, when you level up always choose magic or stamina, never choose health if you want the balance to remain good. The whole point of collecting armor, weapons, and perks is to get stronger but if you're too strong the game becomes pointless.

Smack them with the spell to soften them up and then finish them off with a weapon strike. I do it all the time on Nephiah (by using the unlocked grip feature from CGO)
