most likely the current version. It doesn't make sense for a display team to have the new glass cockpit one. Even their current planes are the original all steam gauges one instead of the later mb339 with MFDs and hud

Lost my old t1600m now need new hotas
Should I just get t1600m again? Or splurge a little more and get vkb stick and throttle?
>>
>>498743946
That's down to how much you want to spend. The VKB sticks are reasonably priced but the throttles are more expensive.
>>
>>498743127
fuck I had even copypasted it
>>
>>498744076
I liked the t1600m throttle but the stick was horrible.
May get a vkb stick and t1600m throttle until willing to upgrade.

What are anons opinions on the x56 hotas?
>>
>>498744223
That's funny because it's the opposite for me, I like the stick but think the throttle is shit. VKB stick + 16000m throttle sounds like a good option for you.

I have had a VKB stick for about 4 years now and it's easily been the best stick I've owned/used. Still works like it did when it was new.

I see people who use their Gladiator stick always highly recommend it. It has a throttle on the stick that you can use, but you can also get a standalone throttle if you want.
>>
>>498744223
I haven't tried the X56, but have had several X52 and X52 pro's over the years. They're good sticks but Logitech QA isn't what it used to be, so they could be hit or miss. The VKB sticks are definitely higher quality.

I'll probably have to wait. I'm already planning to buy msfs2024 either in november or december and 77€ + plane is a bit steep in the same month. Best case scenario would be that the msfs version gets an huge update to bring it closer to the xplane one. But I'm not too optimistic on that.

It sounds like it's better than the IFT version, but it's worth waiting to see if the IFT one gets a decent update for 2024 with new features (beyond the 24 stuff).

>People only talk about DCS ITT when there's some new drama.
The cause of that is that a lot of DCS userbase nowadays are young kids who just discovered flight sims and equate having a lot of switches with realism. The other is that ED keeps only upgrading the vanity aspect of the sim like graphics while dumbing down the actual sim aspects so there is literally nothing to talk about.

I'm getting premium deluxe for the H224, CH47, C17, and Taurus M as together they'd cost more than standard + the planes anyway. Also I want a normal C172, why that's in deluxe is beyond me. The Dornier Seastar also looks fun and that's by ATSimulations (dev who did the AN-2) so should be good. The aviator tier is mostly gimmicky planes or shit ones with only the odd good one like the Scout/Wasp which I've already got.

The IRL manual says the reference airspeed to land at 117 knots for 6000 kg of aircraft mass. Add 4 knots every 500 kg of mass increment, but to aim for an AOA of 10. While doing it in the sim if I follow the manual I end up at 100 knots and 70% rpm instead of 80%. Am I doing something wrong or is it a ploblem of the sim/addon?

>>

Not sure what this exactly is but you shouldn't trust most r-edditors or actually anyone's random opinion online about what is malware and what is not. Unless they have some virustotal log files to show anyway.
There is always some sissy fit among modders and emulator devs as it seems.
>>
>>499011487
I mean - the installer detects if a conflicting mod has already been installed and it deletes those files just to avoid breaking the game installation permanently.
It's not that hard to decipher the purpose of the modder in this sense.
i.e. all of this drama is useless and waste of time. And calling something like this malware is not reasonable at all.
>>
>>499012041
It's kind of funny, because both mod teams have Russian devs and both accuse each other of stealing content.
>>
>>499013984

Yeah and even in this video, there is the guy standing beside him - I guess he is the flight control and the plane is only allowed to run around in the premise of the immediate field.
So it's more like a carnival ride or something.
>>
>>499026140
It might because of range limitations, the plane would just drop out of the sky if you go too far.

being an FPV operator in Ukraine is actually dangerous though, it's not like an MQ-9 where the "pilot" is in a metal box on the other side of the world, FPV operators are maybe a few kilometers from the frontline at best which means they're within artillery range and could get spotted and hit at basically any time

>>
>>499029775

I haven't followed any of the developments on purpose except for some tank related things.
>>
>>499028508
I have a few. The learning curve is kinda high. (Both building and flying), but it's a really fun hobby. To answer someone else's question, max range on an LR drone is 5-10 miles, and if you are standing next to a big tree and fly behind it you get video interference, but if you fly behind a big tree in the distance you barely notice. Flying behind a ridge of a rock is instant video link cut (5.8ghz), but usually you still have reception with your control link because it's lower frequency (900mhz or 2.4ghz), so you can either bling throttle up over the obstruction or hit the Return to Home switch if you have GPS equipped.

since it's a cessna, why not cut throttle and try to use the rudder when slowed down?

It looks like he wasn't concentrating and looking off to something on the right and panicked when it started to leave the runway.
>>
>>499243607
>>499243696

He landed and started going off the runway, panicked and put in full power to try to do a touch and go, started veering off the other side of the runway and instead of taking out power he left in full power and appeared to try to pull back the whole way through the grass. Really bad decision to leave the power in there, he froze up and just yanked on the yoke.

btw I know I was too slow there, I realised that after idling across runway threshold, stalling and coming down hard. It feels weird using so much throttle to keep the plane at 60 knots on approach with full flaps, but I suppose that's just what it needs.

You can land any plane on it with this one simple trick

>repeat as many times as necessary to slow down

We need to bring back double-high cockpit windows on aircraft. That shit looks so fucking comfy, like I’m looking out the window of a country estate. If Boeing brings out a 797 with that kind of view, they can blow out as many passenger doors as they like.

This will probably be one of the few modern (ish) airliners I'll actually buy, I love the 757.
>>
>>499345571
The 797 could look like this
>>
>>499364060
all these "dude the next gen airliner" renders get it wrong because at the end of the day the normie public doesn't want to get in a weird alien spaceship thing like that so airlines wouldnt buy it
eventually they'll look like that, but there will be a transition between classic tubeliners and that
>>
>>499365547
Nah the airlines hate these things because they’re too big to fit in existing airports and air travel went from hub and spoke to point to point. That’s why they ended up stopping production of the A380 because more planes was better than big planes in the longer term.
>>
>>499365547
That is being actively worked on so we will see something that looks like that. The issue is people will have to sit in the middle with no windows nearby unless they implement skylights, so window seats will probably be more expensive.

Is a game like Dangerous Waters hard to code?

Do you guys know if there is going to be a road stop that would require me to really rethink my coding? I've thought it through and the basic game mechanics look relatively easy to implement, so much so that even sloppy code would suffice.
I just want to create a prototype featuring a submarine, a frigate and a merchant ship, so on the asset-side, it should be very lightweight.
>>
>>499405748
There is the simulation side of things, the systems you see in the game are not just scripted interface panels.
And enemy AI and its procedures are always one big additional problem to solve.

>>499418227
A small amount of 13th and 14th gen CPUs (mostly seems to be affecting 14th gen i9s) were becoming unstable over time causing blue screens, crashing and other stuff. It turned out that the CPUs were demanding unsafe voltages and damaging the processors. This was permanent damage, you had to RMA it if you experienced it. The fixes which are out now are to prevent that from happening.
