Some thing I have contemplated a lot for a while now is several different fundamental character "templates" that are universal across all stories. An example being, a "Mascot" character like Sonic the Hedgehog. One very major "template" is the Superhero. And this is what Knuckles is. But what I've struggled to pin down is what a corresponding "template" for Blaze would be called. I knew what it is in theory, but I couldn't find the right word for it. But what I have concluded, after a very very long time contemplating it, is that this template is "Amazon". In the context of Blaze, it pretty much refers to her as a strong, powerful female figure in a comparable light to Knuckles and on equal yet opposite level to Sonic. Possibly also having being very beautiful and attractive, but in Blaze's case, that's not a necessary focal point. The female counterpart to a Mascot like Sonic is just a Waifu, which translates into stuff like Vtubers in this day and age being an entire industry of anime girls who gain immense popularity and success through simply existing as themselves with attractive character designs and personalities. A "mascot" and a "superhero" are fundamentally different things, but can easily blur into each other. Sonic & Knuckles have a specific dichotomy, but Sonic's status as the protagonist make many unfamiliar with him confuse Sonic for a typical superhero, because many mascots have become superheroes and vise-versa. The female equivalent is a "waifu" character becoming an "amazon" or vise-versa. If the prime example of the Superhero template is Superman, then this "Amazon" template would just be Wonder Woman. With all of this in mind, I have come to the conclusion that if Knuckles is Superman, then Wonder Woman is Blaze. Not Amy. However, DC uses Wonder Woman as the "Amy" (read: Girl) character in the Justice League and in the "Trinity"... Yet the most popular DC female character might possibly be Harley Quinn, who very much IS "Amy" at her core.
