It wouldn't have been as big a tearjerker and it wouldn't have been kowtowing to the theme of Kyousuke needing to atone for being a callous, insincere mob accountant or whatever... but come the fuck on. No way in hell did he actually deserve this shit, guilty conscience or not.In lieu of that, I really would've enjoyed a fandisc which went into Kyousuke and Haru's life after he made it out of the slammer. It's fucked up that he was torn from his child's life for, what was it, 7? 9 years? He missed her birth, her first steps, her first words, her first day of school, he wasn't there to see her grow up or help raise her. She had to live wondering where her daddy was all that time. I want to see how they become a happy family

You can even keep the game exactly the same up until the time skip, Close Your Eyes playing in the background and everything, and then instead of the time skip, you have an entire chapter dedicated to the trial and Haru going all out during it to conclusively disprove Kyousuke's confession in a court of law, telling him to not be a fucking idiot and roll over to Kyouhei's plan as if that would ever make her happy. I think that would be just as beautiful an expression of her love as Kyousuke's sacrifice in the first place. Granted, I don't really jive with Looseboy's moral compass here to begin with, and think the theme of rejecting an unjust punishment would be just as powerful as what he went with, if properly executed.
