IMHO the problem with part 2 is they are doing too much stuff that only really works later into the game and rubs you the wrong way early onshus = ER 2 but remember there was tons of character stuff before ER going into flamechaser's characters (not that this doesn't also develop Mei's and Kevin's character but you get the point). there should have been way more (You)/sena/helia/coralie stuff. The pre-part 2 stuff obviously doesn't work because it would just resolve their issues immediately.open world plays like kolosten 2 which is tedious, and it combines that with the tedious late part 1 dialogue about sigma space and honkai reactors, except it loads all of that on you up front before you've seen stuff playing outthe whole simulation thing works quite well in retrospect and it is the first thing you see (we found a computer on mars...) but it hits you like whiplash once you get into the 7 shus part, while the whole picture makes a lot of sense its another thing that gives you a bad impression midway because you don't have that context for a long long time
