dark souls 1 and 2 are difficult because of their clunkiness & the level design but the boss fights are quiet simple and easy if you have hands that work. 3 gets its difficulty from the fights but the level design is pretty simplistic and easy to navigate but even still i wouldnt necessarily say 3 is very hard mechanically but compared to the boss fights from 1 and 2 its obviously way harder. also dark souls 1 and 2 being clunky isnt a bad thing imo in fact its why i like the games so much 3 feels much more modern and sleek which is nice but there is something undeniably charming about the combat system in 1 and 2 its almost like osrs in a way in terms of having a soulful clunky feel to it
