I understand how on paper making a scary story out of your friend's tragedy is bad. However, after listening to it a few times, I see in practice it wasn't that bad. It doesn't directly Maria or GUN. It's just a spin on how Shadow was created and his general feelings and motivations. I'd argue that Shadow as is he is now, wouldn't take offense with the story as is. He wouldn't deny those feelings and motivations. He'd just say "Well that's true and I wouldn't want to hide that". I think another angle is that among Sonic & Pals, he's okay with anything that bolster's his intimidation factor even if he thinks the prank itself is juvenile. Mix that in with understanding Rouge can be a bit of a troll and wants to live in the moment (and by extension wants Shadow to as well for his sake), then I think Shadow's response in the vid was appropriate. I understand why others would be upset on his behalf, but I think Shadow's gonna be okay.
