Why can't someone just rip the map data from MSFS and just create a custom map for DCS? You would literally have the best of both worlds.

F86 SABRE. It's also in DCS and it's the best non modern bluefor jet to have BFM with.

Topmach studios f22 is getting an update with an actual radar that can lock on to multiplayer planes and irl traffic for msfs2020. I 100% bet someone will be able to make functional combat mods for 2024.

Damn that's great. I wonder if they just want to make something with a good enough flight model for their aerobatic shows or if they'll also model its AA and AG capabilities. I hope they will keep it a freeware module if they decide to release it to the public. The A-4 Skyhawk is great and not everything needs to be a paid module.

Guy who impulse bought a quest 3 here.
Couldn’t stomach $1800 for a 4090, sent the headset back today.
Replaced it with an office tier Dell 4k60 monitor, immediately infinitely happier.
Somehow getting the same if not better performance with the same settings than I was on a 1080p panel? Not going to question it.

Just roleplay on the Marijuanas Islands map, that seems to be the coping strategy. Like that P-51 campaign on the Cockasses map that's supposed to be "Korea".

Just so you know because it's criminally underreported, the Quest 3 is fucking amazing wirelessly with Virtual Desktop and kind of meh natively with a wired connection and worse with the native wireless setup. Farming Simulator 2025

First time playing this series. I bought a small plot and wanna clean it of trees and foliage. I bought a chainsaw and knocked over this tree. How do I remove this from my land so I can actually build here? Do I really have to buy one of those machines that can pick this up for several tens of thoundands (if not hundreds of thousands) dollars just to get a clean plot?
>>
>>502068607
Can you not chop it up further? I haven't played farming sim for years, though I do have 2024 and haven't started it yet, but you can make money off forestry so surely you can sell that tree.
>>
>>502068841
Sorry I've got 2022 not 2024. The earlier reviews of 2025 are mixed but graphically it looks decent.
>>
>>502068841
>>502068953
yeha I think I can chop it down further, haven't tried yet. But maybe I can chop it up into small enough pieces so I can carry it onto my neighbours plot
>>
>>502069020
so I figured out you can actually rent the vehicles and I also figured out how to put the trees onto the thing and sell it at the biofuel drop off point. it was extremely tedious to do this for one (1) tree and I have several on that land. I decided to just load my savegame and buy another plot (already plowed and ready to go and just build there)

Also...it doesn't work. In addition to being a crap jet, it's also a crap stealth jet. The first sign was when they wouldn't sell F-35s to Turkey because they have the S-400. Why would you worry about that if its stealth was so impenetrable?

And now there's a lot of murmuring that the IDF was locked on over Iraq during the attack on Iran, which is why they curiously aborted the plan and basically cried victory and went home. This is the biggest unreported story in the news, because there's even a modicum of truth in it, it basically means the F-35 platform has been nullified, especially since the Israeli variant is perhaps the most potent version of it. Whoops, there goes....$2 trillion!

But then anyone who's surprised is a fucking retard. The US has done this before. Look up the F-111. Another pigplane.

If you're just starting out, the t.6000000 isn't a bad stick, and it pairs nicely with the TWCS throttle. Next you'll want some rudder pedals when you get sick of the twist rudder on your stick. Then you'll realize that you fly helis more than any boring ass airplane, and you're sick of the trimmer button setup in DCS because it's not how real helis work, so you can drop $1500 for a Virpil MongooseT base and collective, including all the mounting hardware and grips of your choice.
That's what I did, you might want to do it sooner than later in case these Burger tariffs actually materialize in the near future.

I'm not really recommending it, it's just a cheap and plentiful stick with hall sensors in the gimbal, which is my minimum requirement for something worthwhile. No hall sensor in the twist rudder though, so that will shit the bed before anything else on the stick. It's essentially a semi-disposable joystick.
My recommendation is to dig deep and get some good shit as soon as you think the flight simulator bug you caught messing around with cheap hardware has turned into lifelong flight sim AIDS.

Black Square's Caravan Professional looks great. They're also doing a Commander 114, and a Professional version of the Baron and Bonanza, no mention of the King Air sadly. For anyone that doesn't know Black Square do overhauls of the default planes in MSFS taking them to study level, but the only thing that they didn't change were the exterior model or sounds and some other minor things, so these 'Professional' versions are a whole new plane so to speak.

That wasn't really what I was getting at. There are loads of different types of planes and things you can fly in flight simulators but most people fly airliners. I don't hate airliners, I like them too, they're great fun, but some people rely far too much on autopilot. Someone posted here a while ago saying they had over 1000 hours in flightsims but realised they didn't know how to fly, to do patterns, do a proper approach etc.

Miltech Simulations have put up a plan for 2024, which might give us an idea of how other devs will do it.
>porting does not function correctly
>no updates to old content on day one
>24 porting updates will be free
>24 functionality (new aerodynamics and other tech) updates may required a purchased upgrade
>U2, CH53 next year
>recommend that all content is downloaded to your PC rather than streamed
>strongly advise against using the ported versions as there may be bugs and they're trying to get them pulled from the marketplace until the fix is up
This is just what one developer is doing but I'm sure others will follow a similar pattern.

it's about how the russian put a price on their procurements, if a pump or an actuator costed their industry 10 dollars to produce they would look up how much an actuator made in the US with the same spec cost and they would put the US price. This would negate any advantages to working with russian suppliers as their products were never made to spec as their core concept was that stuff would get produced anyway and the cost amortized over other companies and industries due to communism. If your actuator that was supposed to do a movement 10 million times broke after 500k times it was not an issue for them, but it is when you're trying to open yourself to the international market.

Same here. I can actually imagine some Soviet situation where the AP was developed shoddily, but the pilots were required to keep it on whenever flying, so they just turned it off and said to their CO "yep, this AP works great, I sure love having it exactly the way it is!".

Goddamn, I'm getting 15-25 fps on the benchmark mission, even when turning everything as down as possible I still only manage to increase it to 40-50 fps, and with a resolution so low it's even hard to play, I assume my GPU is part of the problem but I think the main culprit here is the CPU, this Ryzen 1200 is really not up to snuff.

Atleast things are a bit better in the air, around 30 fps even with the default settings, especially with clear weather conditions, so I guess it's not completely unplayable.

I bought it on release date and refunded pretty quickly

>>
>>502666271
I just picked it up last week, but there's a good variety of aircraft that all do very specific things (COIN, EW, transport lift, gunship, strategic bombing, air superiority, carrier aircraft), the combined arms aspect feels pretty detailed with guided missile ships defending carriers, SAM sites that shut down high altitude flight unless your plane has a radar jammer, tanks and IFVs spawning from vehicle depots that can be destroyed, there's an in-game economy so you can have matches with some stakes instead of endless meatgrinders.
>>

It's ironically pretty agreed that X-plane 12 has the best night visuals. I heard MS fucked with the lighting engine to make it Xbox friendly, a friend told me it looked better on release.

Honestly, 2020 was really just a very long beta. So many crashes and hangups even till this year.

>Internet Bandwidth: 50 Mbps – This is more than sufficient for streaming the high-quality world data that MSFS relies on. According to Microsoft, 50 Mbps should handle the data streaming needed for detailed photogrammetry, live traffic, and real-time weather in the sim without issue.

Apparently when they did the preview event in the Grand Canyon they were on 5mbps broadband. You should be fine as long as you accept you'll probably have longer loading times because I think that's what it affects.

Yeah bro, take on hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt so you to can spend 18 hours a day competing with third world shitters for less than minimum wage, getting brake checked half a dozen times a day by insurance scammers or if you're really lucky shot and jacked by venezuelan gangs.
>>
>>502794847
>The speed at the 2024 Grand Canyon Press event was 12 Mbps. You can look at all the captured footage yourself from all the different YouTubers. It was said that there were some initial stutters on loading of any activity, but then it settled down and ran smooth. So if you want to fly and you have low bandwidth, wait a minute before you hit Ready to Fly.
Sorry it was 12 not 5.
>>
>>502794753
>>502794942
>12 mbos
Sounds like it might be alright then, all I really care about is good quality terrain data/textures, photogrammetry buildings were always a bit blobby at the heights I tend to fly so I turned them off in 2020 anyway, but the terrain was hands down the best for bush pilot stuff.

If 2024 does a good job with the cache I guess it'll already have the areas I tend to fly a lot downloaded after a few runs too.
>>
>>502795289
It still has a rolling cache like 2020 so it's good if you fly in the same areas. In the alpha the initial load was not too bad on 60mbps but then the next time round it loaded practically instantly.

It's the most natural feeling thing in the world, just feels like you're sitting right there in the cockpit.
I was talking about how microsoft just removed Windows Mixed Reality with the latest Windows 11 update, essentially bricking tens of thousands of perfectly good headsets.
All because they weren't making enough money on supporting it. I wonder what else they won't be making enough money supporting now?

We are aware of user reports of long initial loading times into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

With so many users initializing the sim concurrently, we have a large number of server requests. We are working to help resolve the issues as soon as possible.

>For users whose initial load is past 90% and no longer progressing, we recommend a reboot. Otherwise we advise waiting to allow the loading to proceed as normal.

Tbh, xplane could very easily over take msfs if they partnered with Google. Austin would never do it, but the bones of xplane are solid whereas msfs doesn't even have basic functionality after 4 years.

Yes I know, but it would never be as powerful as a native solution. And they know it, they admitted the scenery format was made in the 90s and completely incompatible with satellite imagery. They're reworking the whole system, but who knows when that'll be.

Tbh, the bigger problem is probably Google. They're not doing anything with Google Earth, just letting it die slowly like 90% of all their projects. Pajeetery kills.

That's what the servers are running on
>>
Situation rapidly deteriorating
>>
>>502836581
why?
you do know you can get third party "DLC" planes and drop them in a folder right?
you know, without microsoft doing any authentication or purchase verification
and there are lots of places on the internet that offer a wide range of very detailed aircraft and locations for very good prices!
you would be surprised how many aircraft are available for download for very, very, very little money
>>
>We are aware of reports of aircraft missing from the My Library and Aircraft Select screens in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This issue is related to the server issues we are currently working to resolve.

Please stay tuned for further updates.

From what I've seen (console-tards flying in third person view), you are not in for an immersive rotor experience, saar.
May I suggest DCS: UH-1?
>>
>>502840463
>why?
It was just a joke about there being so few planes.
