Back when every weapon attack was more meaningful before World, IG was a pretty strong and different option since it had fast attacks and high motion values but it was locked behind getting the extract, so it required a somewhat skillful consistent targeting of the monster and rewarded you with the highest dps potential with an upkeep mechanic. Gen ruined it by nerfing the MVs into the ground (even tho all the gen monsters are fucking absurd damage sponges) and World further ruined it by making it so any weapon except the great sword has low MVs now unless its some special attack.
