I'd like to point to one of the things that I have registered as one of the more unique elements of the game. Disregarding how big of a thing or relevant it even is. But I find it really interesting how the game's formation/row system works. Sure with the player-party it's very classic. 3x2, and while the game's presentation is very cool with the first person perspective and the frequent views of your party members, relative to your own position in the formation etc, the player party is mechanically a classic blobber blob in the end. But here is what I find interesting. The enemies are different. Take the bandits from the Beginning Dungeon that could spawn 3x3 formation. A total of 9 of them in three rows. But the rows are diagonal. Kill the bandit on the furthest right in the middle row, and the bandit to the furthest right in the furthest back row, will all of a sudden walk all the way to the front row giving you two back rows of 2xBandits and a front row of 4xBandits. Then if you kill the bandits on the left side of the middle row, one of them will actually walk forward and squeeze into one of the front row gaps and give you a front row of 5xBandits. I mean. This system might not be anything extraordinary or revolutionary. If they had just been 3x3 in straight lines, I wouldn't exactly have chastised the game for being mechanically simple or anything. It doesn't make that big of a difference. But it is rather unique is it not? I can't think of a single other RPG that does this. And I find it kind of interesting.
