I was on r*ddit reading the dual spec salt, but there's one thing about the community there that just rubs me the wrong way. Why do so many people love to virtue signal that they aren't a sweat and that they wanna start their own guilds where people can "play what they want" and "its ok to bring off-meta classes/specs to raid" because we're not about trying hard and sweating we just wanna have some heckin' fun?My classic guild had some off-meta players, but they were limited slots and the players who did them were in the top 2% of that role. We even experimented with a prot pally in naxx but ultimately had to kick him because it just didn't work because he would get 1-shot or lose aggro. Maybe his spec IS bad. Or maybe he's bad at the game. Or maybe it's a bit of both. But point is we had a moonkin, a ret pally, even a shadow priest, and they all knew when it was time to put on the dress and heal because it's not just about having fun, it's about killing the bosses and beating the raids. It's probably just the fact that it's easier to say "Oh yeah I'd let my guild have 3 ret paladins and 2 ele shamans and a couple of shadow priests and a moonkin!" for free karma on reddit than it is to actually sit down and say "oh, we have too much dead weight memespeccs in our 40-man raid and I don't wanna kick anyone because it'll hurt some feelings so we're just gonna spend the next 6 weeks unable to full clear due to failing the most menial of dps checks

But the 1-60 journey is half of the game of Vanilla! The original announcement said that they don't want people to have to rush to 60, but the average 1-60 /played is 200 hours. That means an average player would have to put in an insane 9.5 hours every single day to get there in time for MC. Even extremely fast and optimal players will take 120-150 hours. Say you're an extremely serious/dedicated player who has done this hundreds of times and will absolutely hit 60 with 5 days /played. That's still 6 hours played, every single day, without missing a day, and that is again basically the fastest even a sweaty player can get there.So please, Blizzard. Cool it off for another couple weeks. Even just 1 extra week before raids would be a huge boon! I don't want to be a full month of gear ahead of my friends who can't play 60 hours per week!

I think dual spec is a good indicator of the "devs" philosophy and why I think that this fresh will fail but for me the hype died as soon as I learned that the pvp ranking changes would be active.Now everyone can hit r14 (you can get your 500k by only playing like 25h of AV), and it will release with dire maul alongside AV/WSG. It means BWL (p3) and to a certain extend AQ40 (p5) raid will be worthless because you can get better gear just doing 30h of AV each week for 2 months.BG will be filled with pve "semi-hardcore" players that only care about their parses and want the gear. HF loading into a WSG with 6 warriors and 3 Ret Pals...Imo this change is way more impactful that dual spec and most people are silent about it. But this is similar to what they did with SOM (except pvp was there on realease instead of 2 months after release so even MC was worthless)

The biggest winners are surprisingly Resto Druids.Being able to stack the Rejuv and Regrowth HoT is a massive buff to their HPS and means you can finally stack several Rdruids together in a raid. Which means more innervates for the raid as well. Crit Regrowth builds are not just going to be good, theyre going to be meta now, mark my words.
