I'm uninstalling Rivals 2I'm just not interested in playing it. At the current rate, I don't have much hope the game will get the changes it needs to be fun, or will ever be as fun as the first game. The core gameplay is having an identity crisis on whether it wants to be Melee/PM or Rivals, and I think that's where the issues with the game design stem. It's sad.I used to play other platfighters and had a blast playing at my locals or tourneys with friends, but ever since trying RoA, I haven't really been able to go back. I was off-put by how those other games played unless it was casuals or locals after that point. Ultimate's Online was cancer given the delay and lack of parity with irl (game wasn't that fun either imo), and Melee had the sauce, but was exhausting to play without friends ready to go. There are lots of frustrating things about how those games play too, but Rivals was always fun to learn and play long sets in, no matter the scenario. Lots of depth, none of the gripes of those other games, different playstyle but similar feel with added zest in the character depth. It has become my favorite game in this "subgenre", and Rivals 2 just isn't that game.I'm not having fun, so I'm done playing RoA 2 outside of locals or with friends. I like it more than melee, PM, and Ult (esp.) etc., but not by much. I can't stand to have it installed since I'd rather pick up RoA 1 for a few games, but what makes it worse to me is the missed potential and the fear 2 will likely not get the massive overhauls it needs to be what I want out of it. Again, it's caught in this weird identity crisis gameplay wise, and I don't know if Dan and the team are ready to handle those hard questions. When they added mechanics like Whiff lag to 1, they were making something new as a solution to an existing problem, and I don't know what the solutions will look like for RoA 2 and if they're super committed to making those tough calls or are too committed to it being like Pm/melee.

I also think some characters are incredibly lame, but that's not an issue with the game, that's an issue with the balance or the characters. I'd much rather the fundamental "game" issue be fixed than them devoting time to tweaking the characters. Tweaking the characters can come after they fix the core issues with the game itself.

His teleport is amazing paired with it, sure, but if he doesn't have puddle on stage or they camp it it is very easy to cover both of them with this change. nerfing the air stalling of the bubble pop is terrible, if you have puddle on stage that essentially means you can't ever do the reverse fair recovery. nerfing his getup attack, like whatso many of these changes are nonsensical when other characters have way more egregious shit than him. he's low tier and he's getting all of these huge nerfs? i hope not.
