The real question at the heart of it is, why is bside so shit? They had a self owned, self published, original ip they built from the ground up and then decided to just... not take care of it.
Co op is so mindnumbingly boring that 99 out of 100 people would not consider it actual 'content' yet they didn't bother revamping it meaningfully after so many years. Not even have ranking rewards. People here somehow still cared because they're autistic but most of the playerbase no longer gave a single shit about coop. The deaths of each consortium was not surprising, bside got more engagement out of the mode from /csg/ than they ever deserved.

It's a real mystery, they have so much time on their hands and they have done almost nothing with it.
The game has barely changed all these years. Most of the changes have just been removing things or shuffling the UI around.
The few things they have added didn't really take any major effort it's just dropping a different enemy for you to walk to the right at.

I honestly don't know if they are just super scammers who are enjoying getting by doing the bare minimum or if they have been putting all of their effort behind the scenes into something big.
It's probably project star but it feels like a huge mistiming. I think they would have been a lot better off just spending that money on advertising so people knew counterside existed and making it better.

But it's too late, the game is far too old to turn around now. All we can do is coast and hope that ps is worth transitioning to.
Personally I really just want to see an end to the cs story. I want all the mysteries of the qliphoth game and the past revealed. I hate games that don't finish their stories there is nothing more frustrating.
