Had to move to make camp outside Whiterun sooner than I expected due to the Stomach Rot going to Serious then to Deadly.
That's fine for Edwyn though (his father named him after a character in some adventure books he liked as a child, The Gate of Balduran), whose main preoccupation is with learning and practicing magic. Much more opportunity in this larger city.
So, after chopping a bit of wood for tonight's fire and gathering some bits and bobs to trade, it's off to see the court wizard, bright and early on the 2nd of Heartfire, 4E 201.

Hard to say. I love Morrowind and have played it this year again, after having played it last 15 years ago.
NWN and its add-ons I've played dozens and dozens of times, but I wouldn't call it the best.
Arcanum is quite unique, but never finished it.
Bloodlines was pretty cool.
Baldur's Gate 1 was my first real party-based RPG (aside from some short forays into various Might and Magic games).
Currently playing WotR and enjoy it a lot.

Tyranny has an amazing magic system and a very interesting world and choice system
Rogue trader is warhammer which is cool
Kingmaker is a quaint little down to earth RPG mostly
The baldur's gate games are super charming
Wrath is the only game that lets me play as my favorite monster of all time (worm that walks, i nthis case turned swarm) although it might be tied with beholders and wyverns
BG3 is super cinematic
Dragon age is absolute kino but I've played it so many times that I don't even know what to say about it, I think the entire trilogy is good and worth playing
I could keep going but none of these allow me to say for sure "this is the best one ever", I simply don't know

I felt the same way when I played though there is some "that's some bullshit" moments.
One thing, you will eventually (maybe around level 6-8?) basically want Blind Fight on everyone. It's the gaze immunity tax.
There's a couple other things like how you can fuck the kingdom up by picking things that skip ahead two weeks, or how you can completely miss Jubilost by just going to the area too early.
Those are off the top of my head but overall it also left a really great impression on me.

The RT alignements really could have used more depth.
Like imagine if you could play Heretic as a genuine Shepperd to his flock who's convinced he's doing the right thing.
Or a Dogmatic who genuinely cares about about each and every life the Imperium throws away.
Or a Iconoclast who's basically a perfectionist asshole who want to discard everything that doesn't fit his view of a perfect humanity (ironically mirroring the Emperor).
And I think a good step toward that would be the inclusion of more abhumans.
Like there's a world between a Dogmatic who's frothing at the mouth to tear 'mutants' apart and a Dogmatic who's lend his shoulder to a abhuman who held the line against the enemies of humanity.
Or a heretic who'd just see a abhuman as an animal he can use and a heretic who'd lift a abhuman up to tell them their mutations are nothing to be ashamed and just show they are loved by the gods who made them.
Or a Iconoclast who'd treat abhumans as a disease to be 'cured' and 'correct' (cue Dark Eldar tier 'body modification' to 'fix' them) and a Iconoclast who'd see them the same as anyone else.
It could also double up in another mechanic the game SHOULD have: Having your backup NPCs during combat change depending on your choice and alignement. It make no sense to still have basic guardmen at level 5 alignement and in chapter 4.

So far all the spells I've found have only taken a few hours. It does make some sense as it's a bit of a free money machine you can just cast while walking around. Though, with the economy mod(s) I have, it won't be crazy extreme, as I'd either be selling the gold ore (for a few septims) or spending time forging something with it, which is both time I could be spending doing something else, and time spent getting hungry and thirsty and sleepy.
I think I'll just study it a few hours at a time whenever it makes sense to.

Agree, Dogma is portrayed as ruthless lawfag, while a lot of the Dogmatic characters you meet in the game are a lot more nuanced. For instance Drussians are more about redemption,forgiveness, charity etc. Argenta cares for the orphans and poor and opposes Chorda's barbarism, Cassia is pretty kind for the most part, Calcazar is dogmatic, but is willing to use any tool and work with xenos for the good of the Imperium in his mind.
The best you get is an ally with xeno dogmatic option - work together to defeat chaos

And all the options seem to goad you in one direction, there is no pragmatic merchant icono who is in it for profit just bleeding heart retard.
