My friend told me that it is a very generous gacha but I wanted to get other people's opinions. More than anything I want to know how cancerous the gacha is compared to Mihoyo's gacha (my only experience in gacha is Honkai Star Rail) and how necessary it is to invest money to have a pleasant experience (with 5 dollars a month I have all the HSR characters that interest me and i have a lot of them, for example). Sorry for the long post.

You really have to put context to the word “generous” because if you want to be honest something like Granblue Fantasy is very “generous”, but then you play and realize to make your optimal weapon grid you need multiple limited weapons, and seasonal characters so you’re pretty much saving all the time and hoping to get lucky on roulette.

The other one is known as 'sharding' There is a currency called shards that lets you buy IDs for 100 shards; you get an average of 140 shards every week by doing your battle pass bullshit. You can grind out shards near endlessly in something called 'mirror dungeons'.

You'll basically have everything you want within a BP or two. I started last year December and have everything I want, to the point where I'm buying stuff just for collection sake.If you don't want to shell out for the BP It's still pretty good, not "you're literally stealing from El director" levels of generous like buying the BP is but you'll pretty easily speed through all the way to the 5th chapter if you can read.Duplicates mean nothing, so whether that's a plus or a minus is up to you, rates are pretty good IMO and the only "equipment" you have transfers between all versions of that character.Starting out isn't that bad now that we have some catch-up stuff and honestly you can use some pretty bad units starting out and still breeze through so it's not like you'll quickly be asked to have a set of meta units.
