The difficulty wasn't nearly as jank as I was expecting, the enemies getting stronger just got a little obnoxious during the very final segment. Red Shoes's personality data is the basis for modern corruption code. Her original version worked, but got killed by NIMPH defensive mechanisms or made the brain go crazy and shut down. So she sent it off to the Raptures. The logs make no mention of the Raptures deleting her personality data from the code afterwards. I would say I hope you're both happy but I actually hope you both just get more upset about this.
