I've always struggled to get into crpgs for some reason, the asymmetric perspective ones at least. Only one I ever finished was Fallout 1 and that one's pretty short. But recently whatever was blocking me from enjoying them went away when I tried playing Kingmaker again and I basically nolifed it and then went straight into Rogue Trader which I'm currently reaching the end of. Pillars 1 is good and imo holds up, though the encounter design is balls and towards the last quarter of the game I just put it on easy because the encounter design felt like "we gotta have X number of encounters on this map" but in general I do still think it holds up. Protip: Ignore the gold-plated NPCs, they're backer content and should never have been allowed in the game, they have no relevance. Deadfire is an improvement on Pillars 1 but I still think Pillars 1 holds up and wouldn't suggest jumping into Deadfire, especially as it's a continuing story, sort of. tldr:wotr rtwp has nothing to do with pillars rtwp. I'm a fan of rtwp, but only play wotr turn-based, because their implementation of rtwp is shit garbage.
