We Are Legion DLC Campaign released today
>housing density upgrades now tied to the fortification/patrol security feature>by the time I can even unlock anything starting with the manor I'm damn near 30 villagers and all their little 2-person huts are cluttering up my hillside
>>505621107>and all their little 2-person huts are cluttering up my hillsideraze them and put them in a tenament!
>>505621107
There's not really all that much in the demo, just like, most of the first tiers of the common and labour upgrade paths.I still absolutely love the wheat fields in Foundation.
>>505636753They remind me of Medievil. Is there anything hiding in them?
>>505639490Fuck is medievil
>>505620867Is it any good?
im noob to this genre, what can i say. reccomend me some, hard sci-fi maybe? *claw clack*
>>505652885First few missions of Nexus: The Jupiter incident.
>>505652885Terra Invicta, you play as a shadow organization, trying to guide humanity in a post-first contact world.
I want to make a super long game in Civ 6 like I mean this will take an awful long time to complete. Mainly because I feel it goes by way too quickly and you hardly get any time to even use the era's units before having to upgrade. What would be the best mods for this?I already have Take your Time Ultimate which allows me to slow down research to a crawl if wanted, aka first research is more than 999 turns but this doesn't affect production so Im stuck only either building units for time over and over and it's kind of annoying to keep producing a lot of units so quickly.
So City Skylines 2 finally fixed the homeless bug.
>>505647383I haven't installed the update yet, I've been hooked on the human campaign the last 4 or 5 days. It has definitely fulfilled the RTS want that I've had.I wish there was a dynamic style campaign like Call To Arms: Gates of Hell has, though.
>>505672885Kill them all. They are different from us, which means they are evil!
Luv me heroes of might and magic 3Simple as
>>505676785IV is better. More women creature to defeat and rape in post battle.
>>505676223Got cowardly humans trying to backstab my forces too
>>505681794Humans? I thought you were playing Terminator.
>>505684853lol, I think that I've fought maybe 4 battles focused on the Terminators, more have been against raiders, cartel members and turncoats
I am definitely looking forward to seeing what the Terminator campaign is like after this, the patch notes mention customizing the crap out of all of your terminator infantry squads.Looks like it was cracked day one too, if anyone wants to try it before they buy it.
What are some good games if I just want to autistically balance numbers?
>>505686165There are turncoats and cartels in that version?
any comfy RTS games recc? something oldschool-y like sc1how is dow1?
>>505689313The early side quests have a few extra missions focused on them>>505693060Dawn of War 1 is very comfy, I was considering that a couple weeks ago but couldn't find a copy.
>>505693216just bought it on steamturns out the bundle thing is actually 4 games in the library>soulstorm>winter assault>dark crusade>anniversary editionwhich one do I play first?
Still can't believe didn't got banned.>>505693653In chronological order? Anniversary. Then Winter Assault, Dark Crusader, and finally Soulstorm.Or just skip the others and stick to Soulstorm.
>>505636753>>505600990Very nice. Has the game been updated? Have they finally done something about the performance?
>>505695551If you have performance issues, I recommend viagra.
>>505695551it's the demo build of the full release. the base game won't be updated until jan 31st when it officially launches. I've never had performance issues with it in the past and the demo build doesn't run any worse so I can't say whether or not it runs better.I haven't gotten it up to higher populations, since really the demo doesn't have enough available in it to warrant getting past 40-50 people.
>>505696719slight example - the only edict from the manor you can issue in the demo is a levy. can't even promote anyone - however, to get around the villager social status requirements for some professions like the tax collector, baker, stone mason, etc. they just don't register and let you appoint people for the spots in the demo.A lot of the new art for things like the manor and rustic church pieces all look really nice.
So, what's the general stance on civ 7? I liked that they made the age transition hold you back a bit to even the playing field for the next epoch, but not being able to play fully as the same civilization (that stands the test of time) seems underwhelming. Also, it seems that they aren't really taking into account civilizations that didn't go overseas and explore for the second age. Most of all, we might miss some great civilizations. I'm a great fan of Byzantium, but Constantinople fell 1453 and discovery of Americas happened 1492. On the live stream, the second age jumped to 7th century, so that gives me hope, but again, Venice, Byzantium, Genoa and the like were Med empires, not ocean faring ones. How will these civs be implemented when there's so much focus on new lands?
>>505709992>So, what's the general stance on civ 7?That it's not out yet.
>>505710387only reasonable answer itt
>>505711376I am the voice of reason in this general.
I spent like 4 hours on the last battle in TerminatorBut holy shit, this map is huge! It's going to take a long time to battle through.
>>505714185Wait, you mean the one before this one, or the last map of the campaign?
>>505714771The previous battle, not the final battle.I'm not sure how long the campaigns are, I'm on battle number 8 right now.
>>505716482Hell. Let us know how long that one took.
>Stellaris>the version number for the last couple of updates is pi with an increasing amount of decimal places
>>505721825heh
>>505696719I didn't really have any problems with running it but my laptop strarts to sound like it's going to lift off while I run it. The game uses one cpu to do most things so one gets really hot while the rest barely do a thing. Anyway the game looks a lot better.
How do I stop my economy from shitting the bed in Stellaris? Every game by 2250 it spirals out of control. Am I colonizing planets too early? Or building robot factories too early? It always starts with a shortage of consumer goods too.
>>505730909By playing a better game.
>>505730909The economy is fake and gay
>>505730909The bed is fake and gay.
>>505662702I would not recommend that game to anyone new to the genre. I also would not recommend that game to anyone who wants to have fun.
>>505732494>>505732620>>505732730thanks fellas
>>505734772this, just refunded it. shitty tutorial, overly complicated UI, and the gameplay amounts to just waiting for dice rolls.
Super crazy mission, first it was a stealth operation then it turned into an escort mission now it's a defense mission with dwindling resources
>>505751947Heck. Sounds like missions are anything but boring. Are skirmishes a thing still or is it a campaign only game?
>>505753613Yeah, it's got skirmishes and multiplayer. I haven't played either but the menus looked pretty similar to Call to Arms skirmishes.Had to leave a captured terminator tank behind because it ran out of fuel this mission
>>505755920>fuelHell. I like it, sounds like a very hard game.
>>505709992I liked humankind initially (posted some runs here) still kind of do so the premise is interesting. However because they never sell a complete civ game anymore I'll wait 2 to 3 years before even bothering to see if its my cup of tea
bumpo
Good day fuckos, how's it going?
>>505793786Still playing Valheim(blogged posted a bit on indie). May retorrent and play Per Aspera.
>>505793786I may take a break from Dark Defiance to play some Resistance
These RTS games feel like they become tower defense games after a while.I don't know if it's because the way the AI operates or a design decision. You would think that the AI would try to go about its mission or reinforce its current forces instead of making a bee line straight towards your units.
>>505794746>Terminator resistanceMy nigga! Have you tried the Terminator game mode and Annihilation line DLC yet?
>>505795207Installing it for the first time right now
>>505764295Are 4X games the best genre for AI slop?
>>505802315I think that would be gacha

What's the oldest/most esoteric 4x or strategy game in general you have ever played?
>>505810028think it might be Sid Meier's Colonization
>>505810028Oldest probably pic-related.I didn't got a PC until well in my teens.
>>505793786Going through my old GIFs. I'd rather not post there here, but I like rewatching them and remembering.
>>505810592There was more to Tzar than just Burden of the Crown??
>>505811476Yup. I got physical Excalibur and the Gold edition. It warms my heart removing the arabs from my country.
had to double-check that I hadn't accidentally installed lustful void
>>505813228Remember how Paradox added the empire wide gender modifier to the game after Lustful void added it?I do.
>>505810028I suppose it would be the Close Combat series. There's a lot of open source stuff for it now, I guess.
>>505811773Wait, wait.Wait wait wait.What do Excalibur adds?

>>505835801>Earth 2150t,
>>505836219Earth 2150 is such a fucking amazing rts. The expansions were fun. Modular units in a command and conquer style skirmish? 3 fully fleshed out factions with their unique styles? Limited resource campaign that also had a timer? Elevation, day night cycle mattering? And yet like no one knows of this game.Graphics were dated and yeah ui/tutorial not great but it's a fucking shame this game didn't get more exposure.
>>505730909like what part? not having enough energy? not enough minerals? get your shit pushed in by xenos?
Hey anons, I'm thinking about getting into Hearts of Iron. Should I buy HOI III with all the DLCs for about $4, or should I wait for the HOI IV Steam Sale?

Doesn't really do anything special, save for the late-game magic. Non-campaign maps are atrociously balanced with some severe AI cheating on top. Doesn't play too nice with modern hardware but it's functional. Have literally never seen anyone talk about it, ever.
>>505817493As with the other two games, just a campaign. There was also a big fughuge spanish "mod" campaign with custom voicelines and scripting.

Try Silica.It's kinda fun.
>>505902252What would you have done if the nuke had clipped the edge of the craft roof?
>>505922683Is this really a strategy game? It looks more like a first-person shooter.
>play ciV>try one city challenge>completely dwarfed by other multi-city civs by turn 70alright, okay, i admit iti can't play civ well unless i'm scooping up swaths of territory and exploiting all the resources
There's way too many armored vehicles in this game to use infantry well. They need the option to dig fortifications.
kek the ai just keeps lining up more armored vehicles to drive into my c4 ieds
>>505803176>cheats
>>505944818slavic autists balance gameplay difficulty better than jeet internsnearly every modern game with DLC has power creep that completely neuters older gameplay styles and tactics
dow1 is pretty fun so far
>>505951656Yeah, it's a classic. What factions have you started with?
>>505925457It's strategy/first person.Think Battlezone 2. Or Dungeon Keeper.
W&R has quite a few "gotchas" that make realism mode impractical I thinkfirst there's the whole dormant workers thing, you gotta be careful to not accidentally activate them, and it really demands that you build new and move people in rather than building out from the old towns, which I find more satisfying, but adding services to old towns in realism mode just takes way too long, they all died or defected by the time you have running water and a grocery storethen there's power lines and pipes, you have to pre-make branch points built in from the start everywhere, or else you'll have to tear down your main power/water line for months to rebuild it, which basically ends the game.and the worst one is how inconsistent it is with what buildings can be driven "through" and which one's can't. the bus stop lets traffic flow, but the bus platform stops all throughtraffic even though the road part looks the same, you can't really guess which ones allow traffic and which ones don't, you have to know it by heart, and its safest to just assume they don'tall of this kinda saps my will to play it, I feel like the game needs a substantially better engine than it has to support these things, in every other transport game you can add a bus stop to the side of any road but in W&R you have to tear the whole road downI still want to give full realism a go but keeping all these gotchas in mind and not knowing if there's something else I missed that might end the game if I don't work around it ahead of time is putting me off>>505954350except battlezone is good and silica is shite
>>505836219>>505838663I really love how that game goes "the world is about to end, you have 6 months, and no we're not going to tell you what to do, good luck"
>>505954663We're talking about Silica though, not your mother.
>>505954663I haven't even tried realism mode yet. It sounds harrowing.

>>505982502Thoughts on Total War going full on Bannerlord gameplay style?
>>505986865>ThoughtsI try not to. >>505987108It's mainly about getting past the first few hurdles in a campaign and then your basically steamroll the rest of the map.I'd really like to see some 1st/3rd person mode introduced after giving basic orders to unit officers. CA has done a 3rd person action game before. Bannerlord sort of expanded from the other direction. They started with the 1st/3rd person action combat and added a command ui in later.
I started this mission with 1 light vehicle and 2 infantry squads. This game's recruitment scheme of finding reinforcements on the battle map is something else.
>>505991742How so? Do you need to explore the map to find more units to use?>>505988829Make sense, the only campaign I did okay in was with the Vampire Counts. And I spammed monsters. And, yeah. That is why I like Silica, against my better judgement.
>>505991742Last time I saw that sorta recruitment scheme was in Treasure Planet: Battle at Prodyon.Name of the game was huge false advertisements, despite fighting the Procyons we never fought at Procyon prime.
>>505995065>How so? Do you need to explore the map to find more units to use?In Terminator Dark Fate Defiance, you join a lot of battles already in progress and end up with a lot of the troops that you save.
>>505995698Fits John Connor, I guess. Gotta build that reputation as a warlord.
>>505995782You don't play as John Connor in that game. You play in the new movie universe, fighting a killer A.I called Legion instead of Skynet. Also in this timeline John got killed by a Terminator between 2nd and 3rd movies, so it's a different resistance force in general.
>>505995782I haven't seen or heard of John Connor in this one or skynet. I think its using an alternate storyline.>>505996154I believe this is correct. I haven't kept up with my Terminator lore since the series with Summer Glau.
>>505996154>You play in the new movie universeAlright. My interest for the story died with that sentence.
>>505996303terminator resistance is surprisingly good, and very faithful to the two movies
>>505996967First two movies, I may add. Also it has a Terminator mode in it.
Bumps? In THIS economy??
>>506007530what's the exchange rate of bumps to USD?
>>505952002uh, the campaign?the story is surprisingly competent, probably because most recent strategy games don't have a real storyalso is it just me or the normal difficulty too easy? i just wait a bit and then deathball steamroll the whole map

Feels like I'm getting near the end of the campaign. From what I saw online, there's like 12 or 13 missions in the human campaign
I've enjoyed customizing my army and all the vehicles. I had hoped that there was a bit more depth to it like training the militia units into more specialized and elite forces but it just seems to end after getting a few experience ranks.I may just go back to GURPS tabletop with custom wargaming rules to scratch that itch.
>>506076087Ammunition is a thing?
>>506087242Oh yeah, it's basically a Call to Arms clone, I dig it a lot even though I have no clue about the new Terminator setting. The only thing missing is the 3rd person shooter mode, that would have been badass to have and a few more customization options in the difficulty and skirmish/multiplayer modes.lolthis little settlement was not ready for my Himars, mobile artillery, 4 tanks, 4 IFVs and 4 attack helicopters
>>506088497Never played Call to Arms, so...
>>506094356It's a pretty good RTS series.I believe the most popular entry into the series right now is Call to Arms: Gates of Hell: Ostfront. They released a DLC expansion for US forces earlier this year for that game. You manage an army force through a campaign, it has a 1st/3rd person shooter gimmick that I wish that more games would add and refine.
>>506097189I think the only WW2 strategy game I remember is Company of Heroes. And it's an infuriating game.
>>506097335>the only WW2 strategy game I remember is Company of HeroesAh, Call to Arms is from the makers of the Men of War series, that one always seemed a bit bare bones to me, so I focused on their Call to Arms series instead.I think that I've played Company of Heroes before but I don't recall much of it.
>>506097872Company of heroes is from same guys who made original dawn of war series.

>>506115557Good job.
>>506124893Thanks. I wish that campaign weren't so short. An endless campaign like the dynamic campaign in Ostfront would be ideal. In that game, you can invite friends to join your campaign games and battle against the AI with the army that you've built.
Looks like there's been a minor release of radioactive material at the site where I've been temporarily storing nuclear waste for the last three years or so. Comrade Sergeyevich, the ranking engineer in charge of the power plant, has assured us that there is absolutely no danger. 3000 Sv/h is about the equivalent of a chest X-ray. There is no graphite on the roof.

I'm still playing through the starting tutorial but playing as the machines this time around is quite different. They are much weaker and get many scripted reinforcement waves.

But even Forged Alliance's easy AI will notice you have no air, and will make a T3 bomber to snipe your UBC.In Normal, from my garbled memories, you have to make fighters right away, and have them patrol the middle of the map to intercept any gunship/bomber.
>>506814435I really wish they’d just stop updating Stellaris. Do a final run of DLC, actually balance the game perfectly and fix any remaining issues and then just leave it the fuck alone. >>506820232I've been saying this for years. They need to go back to the drawing board. Figure out what parts worked which didn't and make a new game. But then again it's paradox were talking about. Maybe it's better if other studios took the parts of Stellaris that work.

Memoriapolis updated today with an overhaul to their faction system. Instead of having a shit ton of various cultural factions coming in and snatching up districts left and right you get one that will spread out to adjacent districts as they gain power.Haven't fucked around with it enough to see how it really changes things up, though. They didn't seem all that expansionist with how frequently they requested moved into new districts. They will make requests for edicts in the senate and supposedly will also make requests for you to build certain buildings for them, but I never saw that one in particular pop up (it's probably tied to what you have unlocked and I was always kinda starved for architectural plans this go-around).The changes to the generational algorithm for districts is better, I only tried the one quick start to scope it out but I already feel like I'll be able to plant cultural buildings further away from the town center without it resulting in barren patches.
Shit. This isn't going well. I should've trained my speamen.

Trying out Age of Darkness : Final Stand.Name is fucking generic as fuck, and something with the controls feel even worse than Diplomacy Is Not An Option.
Game is a They Are Billions-like, you have a keep in the middle of nowhere, and you're constantly pestered by monsters asking you to return the slab. You have money, wood, stone, and iron, but stone and iron are extremely very rare. The game seem a lot more melee-focused than TAB or even DINAO, but has a psychological side to it: some enemy attacks can cause your units to become horrified, while halves their stats, including movement speed. It also has a weird blessing system where surviving a wave gives you a boon out of three (you can pick it).The difficulty scale feels a bit off, though. Wave 3 expected me to have a lot of ballistas ready, but the map generation cucked me out of iron and stone.
BUMP
The beginning of the end.Unlike the other two, walls in Age of Darkness are extremely weak, but I suspect it's to encourage actual fighting, instead of shooting enemies from afar. You're meant to fight at the foot of the wall, then retreat to heal, then charge out again. It doesn't help that there's an "upgrade" that let you set your walls on fire, which will damage enemies attacking it.
Before I notice it, the hero of the map (the bloke in >>506882205) is dead. Without him, defenses immediately collapse, and the army is wiped out.
The keep is attacked. You might notice a little number above the healthbar, the thing that says 11/150. It's the building's armour. Armor in Age of Darkness works by reducing all incoming damage by 70%, but at the cost of losing one point of armour per hit. And once it's gone...
Welp, shouldn't have bothered to explain it since I later took a screenshot explaining it.I'm not quite sure what "shred damage" is, but since I jumped in Survival instead of doing the campaign...

I think besides paradox sales model and their dlc fuckups/metachangings the game can be alright. Its a game to scratch that itch, its not good for prolonged sessions/multiple playthroughts. After one playthrought once every dozen of months im done and to bored to continue a new playthrough, but its kinda the current model for most of the new 4x/strategy games. After initial honeymoon period, game is boring, ai to dumb, meta and story is known and you have nothing left, but wait for the new content or move to different game./4x love/hate (hate being the stronger one) relationship to this title is very peculiar, i didnt see this many people playing game that they hate in one general, well maybe some moba can be a contender.

However ferrus realized this path was self destructive and swore once the hersey was over and the great crusade completed he would discard his iron hands and become a gentler father. He saw how they were replacing parts of themselves and trying to take away their soul. I've started to research a few repeatables and I'm producing 2k alloys/month with another ecumenopolis on the wayI'm playing on GA/10x scaling, so I think I might be able to survive the crisis *might*, really depends on whether I can get in a federation/become custodian in time, because right now I'm 200 over my naval cap and the bills are getting pretty big

>>507037626nope, they're a regular prosperous unification empire that's been around since 2200no idea why their income is so low, I bombed a few of their planets but but their empire is decently large. Maybe their old overlord was taxing the shit out of them?
>>507037745i fight the khan everytime unless they spawn right next to me and it's a high crisis percentage and he awakens in the very early midgame, the relic is very goodoften times I just kill the marauders before they awaken if they're near my boarders and midgame year is about to start
>>507035815Yeah was wondering. It blows by so fast that I wasn't sure what the purpose of it was.
>>507036957Tributaries are absolute ass, if you want more basic or advanced resources just blob, empire size doesn't penalize resource production. You should always make these into science bitches and subsidize them with minerals and energy.
>>507029616I think so? you can mouse over the jobs in the job tab to see what the actually do
>>507045641empire size doesn't penalize unity or tech production either, only the cost of a edicts/traditions/tech so I prefer to do it the otherway aroundspecialize my planets into tech/unity/alloys/cgs and start offloading as much of my basic resource production to my vassals as possible. I do have a few scholariums though, mostly the ones who produce an unusual amount of research, or if I'm already floating too much basic resource production. I do it on a vassal-by-vassal basis idk, I can see pros and cons of either approach, next time I'll try that
>>507049708>empire size doesn't penalize unity or tech production either, only the cost of a edicts/traditions/techYes which is a massive penalty, if you double your empire and double your science production you are basically where you started. If you double your empire and double your mineral/alloy output you have now twice as many minerals and alloys.
>>507045641>Tributaries are absolute assEven more than me?

>>507050556> if you double your empire and double your science production you are basically where you started.wait noeach empire size after the first 100 is another +0.2% tech cost each pop increases empire size by 1 lets say you have 200 pops, then your tech costs are incresaed to 120% or multiplied by 1.2if you double your pops (including researchers), then your tech costs are increased to 160% or multiplied by 1.6 (1.333... times increase over previous cost) but your research output is multiplied by 2, so a 66.666% improvement in reseach speed to tech coststhat's if you just double the size of your empire, by outsourcing basic resource production to other empires, I can afford to field more researchers for less miners/technicians, thus further increasing my total research output faster than my empire size, and therefore faster than my empire size penalties to tech cost>double your mineral/alloy output you have now twice as many minerals and alloys.yeah but you also double number of miners/metallurgists which also increases your empire size. It doesn't matter what the pop is, more pops = more empire size so both of our approaches are equal from this perspective. I can see one benefit to your approach though, and that's the fact that ecumenopli are more efficient than tech worlds in terms of empire size and pop efficiency. Research ring worlds are extremely efficient too but they're much harder to get than ecumenopoli idk I feel pretty braindead today because I'm on painkillers so maybe I made a mistake somewhere

>>507066525>wait noIt was a figure of speech, the point being that trying to grow your research by expanding is often a fruitless effort because new planets are less productive than your core and they bloat your empire size all the same.>mathNew researchers aren't strictly bad thing ever but they have diminishing returns and the effect of new planets trends towards the average of what your researchers make. The issue here is that the AI sucks at specializing it's planets BUT researchers don't actually get bonuses from specialties while minerals, energy and alloys benefit massively. Your researches are basically as effective as theirs but your alloy production is wildly more efficient than theirs. The end result is what you see in your screen, the AI struggles with basic economy but benefits a lot from little subsidies which don't cost you lot of jobs relatively speaking (this is without mentioning that you can gain minerals and energy relatively easily from non empire size effects especially in late game) when trying to extract science.>yeah but you also double number of miners/metallurgists which also increases your empire size. This of course is true as well, but the thing here is that you can opt into this when ever you want, but you can't opt out of empire size the same way. If you bloat your empire and then decide "actually I don't want this" it's very difficult to shred. Meanwhile if you are say researching and decide you want to build a navy you can just double your alloy production at any point and start shitting out ships which aren't penalized by empire size.>and that's the fact that ecumenopli are more efficient than tech worlds in terms of empire size and pop efficiencyThis is the key, minerals and alloys have much better stacking that the AI just isn't using the same way the player is. If the AI was played by another player then extracting resources would be the way to go because it keeps the vassal weaker.>>507070232Always has been

>>507086451I see a lot of reviews that say that its missing the soul of The Movies but I think that it is really just missing the 1920's era to be a good successor to The Movies. It allows all kinds of creativity to making the movie. You can edit the script and instead of the actors speaking simlish, they are voiced by TTS that you can directly edit in the script.
>>507074194This is also counterproductive because your research is limited by planets not by population because research comes basically exclusively from the researcher jobs which outside of orbital habs and ringworlds only come from buildings. In contrast this is very effective strategy when you are focusing your efforts on ecumenopolis which can and will produce infinite alloys given infinite pops but can't make anymore research than your average iceball.

First off, you can build the same housings over and over, so you can have entire armies of plague rats. Second, heroes (weavers) start with only 3 units slots. Want more? Level them up. Third, all weavers have access to magic, and they get mana by having their units acting. When a stack starts a turn, it sends some mana up to your weaver. So the more stacks, the better. Four, you can only play one faction at a time, you cannot mix them together. Five, you cannot find the rare ressources on the map, so better take over small neutral towns and build a lot of markets.
>>506987528>Goddamm that is a clone for certain. I'm a bit confused by the storytelling in the game. Maybe because I skipped the intro, but i'm immediately presented with the god of the moon (think Ares in God of War), his extremely ambitious daughter, and I'm repeated that the Goddess of the Sun is too passive for everyone's tastes, having them sit on their hands as YHVH is slowly taking over the region with His "drowning rituals".

>>507226914So are the melee units in this game actually good or are they just cannonfodder and the walls and ranged units are the thing that you should concentrate on?
>>507234881The melee units are actually good, it's the pathfinding that sucks, more on that later. There are archers and arbalest that you can send in towers, as well as ballistas and what else, but buildings are extremely fragile, so ideally, you want to keep the fight out of your walls, rather than let the nightmares smack on your walls. The game relies a lot on building up your units experience, since the nightmares can inflict horror on them, which pretty much break their morale until they heal at the keep. The annoying part is that horrified units also lost half their travelling speed, so it's a long way home. Once they're levelled up, though, they get emboldened, and thus are immune to horror.Game's one of the few, too, where melee units have range, so spearmen are actually superior to swordsmen, and look down on these amateurs with a barely concealed smirk of superiority. But the main issue is pathfinding. Units don't go around each others like in every game ever, they instead go through each others. So I often have the issue of my hero being pushed in the middle of an enemy group because other melee units behind him push him forward. Kinda like the cavalry in Warhammer Total War who would push general out of the battlefield instead of attacking them, if you remember.

Starting to figuring out Godsworn.Ressources are unlimited, but ressource nodes are rare, and usually protected by neutrals, so you want to use the hero you spawn with to expand quickly and lock as much of the map as you can. You are expected to lose a lot of units, because once you start pumping out upgrades, you get a lot of ressources.
The game is very early access, but I like it a fair bit. I don't love it, but still, I like the attention to details. Like units changing as you upgrade them, like the wolf warrior going from just a beef bloke with a wolf coat to a full wolfskinzerker.

>>507279413>the wolf warrior going from just a beef bloke with a wolf coat to a full wolfskinzerkerCase in point. The icon doesn't match the unit because it's the starting unit. The more upgrades I buy, the insaner he gets.
