I wanted to launch my last farm to see if I should do a quick run through another year to get screenshots of the peaks of each season, but there were like 50 mods that needed updating lol
It was a ranch run, too, so, there wouldn't be a ton of crops to plant to get a "peak of the season" screenshot, but it would be real difficult trying to corral all of my aminals, which were the point of the run, to be in "good" spots for them. Plus, screenshots on the meadow are very often above 4mb anyways, so Id have to crop them down to share them and stuff, it's a whole thing
I'm thinking I might do it and take screenshots of the interiors of the animal buildings, since those are easier to put together in a nice collage to show off my 100 some animals. I kinda feel like this farm is incomplete until I do SOMETHING to cap it off, like I have done with all my other runs

Something more annoying I had to figure out that I'm leaving here on the off chance it saves someone a headache in the future: looks like Sprites in Detail is incompatible with the vanilla swimming state, which offsets sprites downward
Noticed that Penny was invisible during her 10-heart event, which I had to fix by creating a fake phantom Penny NPC with no social stats using a regular size copy of her sprite sheet that takes her place during the scene
Normally NPCs only swim if an event makes them, but this means using SiD on a character will conflict with any mods that add such events, and using it on the farmer is probably going to turn them invisible when they get in the water

Might be possible to use Spacecore to upscale NPC sprites, but would require cutting the sheets up into individual sprites then writing an EditData Entry for every single frame

Yeah, as it is the way Spacecore HD portraits works is fucking retarded and you shouldn't expect it to be fixed anytime soon since its author is a lazy troon who has gone into hiatus, but at least relying on Spacecore is a thousand times more safe and stable than relying on literally any other framework. Also all romanceables should have a similar number of sprites so the only significant work you'll be putting is into the first one and then you can probably just copypaste the rest.

With the Yoko comment I was actually referring to the Adarin design which I'm just using directly - these specific hair bits together are just Yoko's hairstyle, but I suppose there aren't really that many ways to make ponytails feel different
I do think I may be running into a bit of a problem though, over half the dudes have their personalities tied really strongly to the fact they wear a jacket or hoodie and characters like Alex don't have ANY other themes to work with (all his gift tastes are just "dudebro loves brotein") so I worry somewhat that leaves me using "jacket with nothing/barely anything underneath" an awful lot...

I've slowly started to despise the Rasmodia mod, yet there's no other alternative for a female wizard so I'm forced to keep using it. For one, Rasmodia has no original content whatsoever and relies on the Romanceable Rasmodius mod or the SVE Wizard content. 'Cause besides custom tools just being really complex to make, I just realized the game doesn't even let us use tools while facing NPCs, the use button just becomes another interact button, possibly to make giving gifts work with either button. Pretty sure I already posted this here once, but I have the perfect solution for your issue: Cut a 2 tiles tall entrance on the cliff behind the clinic and make a cave-themed onsen (you can even make an unmanned shop that sells milk and custom onsen cookies for the full thematic autism). This will allow you to get away with only replacing a few hours worth of a given NPC's schedule in a day, and as for compatibility with other mods, all you have to do is edit SVE Pierre's garden (don't forget the SVE team is extremely open to editing and publishing their content) and that's literally it because nobody else touches that area.

Started poking around with the game maps to start laying down the bones of that bathhouse mod, thought I'd go the more difficult route of directly adding something to the beach

No. Basically just read the part about resizing maps in this guide https://stardewmodding.wiki.gg/wiki/Tutorial:_Map_Patches_and_Warps and you should be fine. However, there's an extremely specific issue you should watch out for: Tilesheets. Let's assume your folders look like this
>/Assets > /Maps
And your mappatch.tmx is in /Maps. All tilesheets in your patch MUST be assigned to a .png file existing in /Maps, otherwise you'll get "directory climbing" errors which are critical and stop your shit from loading. HOWEVER, once you're done editing your patch, you MUST remove vanilla and ONLY vanilla tilesheets, preferably by moving them to another folder (like /Tilesheets inside /Maps). Why? Because the game automatically loads its own built-in tilesheets if it does not find any in your folders, meaning recolors can alter your content and people using them won't bitch at you. But like I said, do NOT do this for any custom tilesheets you may or may not have made it. It's absolutely overcomplicated but I hope you get the gist of it.

I absolutely never had to do this, not exactly sure what went wrong but as long as you got it working it's all good. The sign is really cool but if you want to make it look even closer to the Stardew art style, you have to make it so the player can see the top edge (look at windows and doorframes in the vanilla and you should see what I mean). As it is, the sign is completely parallel to the player.

A fine effort, that's just a separate issue of introducing too much contrast between the base color and the shading (which the middle shading tone can help blend together if you also change that)

The vanilla Stardew writing and events allow for a generic main character, but in this mod (and most adjacent) the man-girl dynamic is very important for the story and theming. Early on when I realised this, I stopped adding alternative dialogue related to it.

I assume you're using the SVE version, right? A little difficult to explain, but basically:

Pick up the Ashley/Spooky mod, Recettear, Jas marriage and Morgan marriage (without the Expanded mod. Just Morgan alone.)
Ashley's pack adds her mansion close to secret woods and when you raise Ashley's friendship high enough, she opens up a sauna in there. The sauna restores energy like the spa and certain other cunny mods allows their lolis to join in the sauna. I assume C-team would join there too, but I just started a fresh save.
Recettear replaces Pierre and Caroline with Recette and Tear. They join Ashley's sauna.
Morgan just adds Morgan from StardewValley Expanded, but without the pozzed they/them nonsense. Morgan is just a teasing witch girl and she too joins the sauna.
Jas Marriage is mandatory, even if you do not plan on marrying her. Jas too joins the sauna.

NPC map location mod for finding where the fuck NPCs are, so you don't have to alt+tab to wiki to look for their schedule.
Custom NPC Map Location mod to make it work for all the cunny mods too.

That's it really for what I'd consider essential.

It's simple: Because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing when I first started, so it was infinitely easier to just make a clone. This turned out to be an extremely smart decision when, halfway through 1.5.6, SVE changed its entire file structure to move away from storing all its data in a single .json, meaning I'd have to re-do SVE Morgan from scratch had I targeted the original. And now that I think about it, considering SVE is allegedly complete and won't be receiving more big updates, I think it's finally safe to add a toggle to banish the original Morgan entirely (especially with the item added in the last update). I'll definitely look into it.
