I realize this is setting the bar really low because for any competent game this would just be a no-brainer, but good on MultiVersus for not screwing me out of the Fighters Road XP from the Raven missions. They let me finish the Raven missions like a month ago, keep the FR XP, didn't force me to cash it in and transfer it into Battle Pass XP, and let me use the XP towards unlocking Marceline. Good job, MultiVersus. I realize this is like saying "Good job not spilling your food on yourself, fully grown man," but still, good job nonetheless.

The only "time-limited" thing you'll miss out on without having her is the bonus exp per game from playing as her (they've done this with each character as they've added them basically)2) Kinda, yeah. You can earn the exp by playing, and they have missions to clear for easy amounts of large points, but some are tied to "being cozy" skins (Finn, PPGs in their PJs are ones I have). There's also a third one hiding in the rifts event mission, but that difficulty has some hurdles for clearing the stars [Looking at you, Velma x Nubia map where you have to do Scooby Doo spotlight and ghosts at the same time] and you can't even max out the event UNLESS you already have some sort of Festivus skin (from the battlepass with Beetlegeuse,having bought one recently, or being a beta player and having an old one) because the bottom track of the rift's missions require you to have one of those skins to even attempt those levels.

Think about it this way: the best copies/"rivals" to Nintendo were done when the company was still finding its footing for a new idea. Sonic the Hedgehog only worked because Super Mario Bros hadn't gone in that direction. Crash Team Racing only worked because Mario Kart 64 had a lot to expand upon. The best time for a Smashlike was the Wii era at the latest and none of the copycats around that time tried to improve, replicate or upgrade the formula to that degree (barring PlayStation All Stars, though that was to their detriment). Especially with the latest Smash Bros game refining a lot of the gameplay issues, expanding immensely on the roster, and pushing the character abilities to their limits, everything else will end up like a cheap copy. The closest we've ever got to expanding upon Ultimate's design is Nickers 2 taking the Roman cancel system from Guilty Gear and Multiversus' team synergy attacks, but even those aren't that elaborated upon and aren't key to those games' core feedback loop. Plus, casual customers already have a game with 60+ unique characters to fall back on, so why go out for an inherently lesser product? While the gameplay and online can be better, that's not enough of a selling point, especially when the marketing is piss poor.

She just learned to roll with the punches and get it over with.>It was time for the annual Holiday Ball at Mythic Vista Academy. Despite the name, the Holiday Ball was treated as a casual affair, with the focus placed mainly on mingling with other students, student gift exchanges and (the most important part to Taz), eating from the massive buffet. The mingling part was the one thing that a certain student had dreaded, given the events of the past month.>Now before we get to that, we should at least set the story and how we came here. I think you should be well informed.>Mythic Vista Academy exists in a unique dimension all unto itself. The school was established by Headmaster Bruce Wayne (yes THAT Bruce Wayne) to help students harness their powers and wield them effectively to battle supernatural threats. Located on top of a hill outside of the city and smack dab in the middle of a mysterious forest, a whole host of unusual individuals attended the school as either faculty or trainees. This included Taz (No one questioned it) and Rachel Roth, or Raven (her preferred name).
>The daughter of Trigon and Arella had come to the school not only to learn control of her own powers but to access her “Mythic Vista” transformation; this was another form that certain people could take, which either augmented their natural abilities or gave them new skills. Raven wasn’t too sure how Headmaster Wayne was able to accomplish this (he was a unique mystery himself) but she was pretty sure it was something that came easy to Coach Diana. She was an Amazon warrior after all.>And then there was the only other girl who had unlocked her ability; Velma Dinkley.>Velma (or MVS Valedictorian Velma as some people had nicknamed her) was a girl who, like Raven, had spent a good deal of her time in book reading. She knew this for a fact after a rather surprising encounter with her at the school library. It was not often that she willingly discussed Class 5 Free Roaming Vapors with anyone over pepperoni pizza (at least no one human) but it was a, well, pleasant experience for her. She didn’t know why but being in the company of Velma had made her mood somewhat more upbeat.>Not that she’d admit to it of course.>But things changed rather quickly after what went down in the past month. A rift to another world called the Hypergalactic Universe had opened and beings referred to as the ‘Hypergalactic Puppets’ had emerged to wreak havoc on the city nearby and the forest near Mythic Vista Academy. Somehow, the Laughing Death (alter ego of Professor J) had learned to control them and attacked the school before being defeated by Raven and the others.>And then some guy named Batman showed up to the academy. But the Multiverse problem was not what was on Raven’s mind. She was very unsure how to approach something like this. Certain customs were still rather alien to her, especially those that involved showing any sort of emotion. Still, she couldn’t get Velma off her mind, not after—>“Are you STILL having trouble processing that moment?”>The armor piercing question came from behind her, and Raven managed to muffle an “eep” before she turned around to confront the source of the question: Dr. Harleen Quinzel, the newest member to the school staff. A highly competent therapist, she was hired after the departure of Professor J. (being a villain would naturally disqualify a teacher from teaching at a school teaching people to be heroic)>Staring a hole into Harleen, Raven’s eyebrow was raised as she muttered “Do you and Headmaster Wayne make it a habit to surprise people like that?”>“I only do it when it’s funny,” Harleen asserted, “and he does it just as a force of habit. But cut me some slack, I am the school counselor. It’s my job to keep tabs on you. Reading moods is kind of my thing.”>“Whatever you say doc.”>“Let’s face it, no matter how you try to spin it, you’re still anxious about what Velma said.”

People were claiming that there were “large bugs” wandering about the forests, so Headmaster Wayne, worried after the briefing he received from the alternate dimension Batman, tasked Raven and Velma to search for any signs of a possible attack from either The Laughing Death or Devoid, a being that was behind many of the events happening across the multiverse.So they forgot about the Nothing? Or is Devoid just the more proactive character and thus gets a mention here.>The two split up to cover more ground. As Raven carefully scanned the trees, her mind wandered, questioning why exactly it was just the two of them being assigned this task. Surely it would be better to have assistance from Coach Diana and Taz.>Especially Diana. The damage she could do when you let her work was tremendous.>And then she remembered; it was practically Diana’s suggestion that they would work well together. Did she think the two of them were-
>The drone came from above, knocking her down to the ground. Raven was not hurt physically, but her pride certainly took a hit. It had come from a portal that had opened overhead, and shortly after, two more joined it. These drones were the type that had pursued another multiverse traveler, a Samurai known only as Jack. Resembling beetles with large, scythe like blades, they were very dangerous in swarms.Why would we even need to know they came from Samurai Jack's world? No one in-universe brings it up after Season 2.>Raven glared at the drones as they prepared to strike. “You know, making me mad is probably the last thing you should do, but in this case, I don’t think I’m going to mind much.”>Before she could tap into her powers to retaliate, the following happened; a globe of orange energy came down from above and made contact with the drone that knocked her down. Seconds later, right after the drone exploded into a mass of flaming metal, Velma arrived and placed herself in between the remaining drones and Raven. Instead of her school uniform, she was in her Mythic Vista uniform, which if I could best describe it, is what would happen if Sailor Venus and Mercy did a fusion dance.(The Overwatch influence on this game has been detrimental, about as much as the LoL influence.)>The light on Velma’s visor dimmed and her gaze was fixed squarely on the would-be attackers of Raven as she kept her arms raised and yelled in a defiant voice “STAY AWAY FROM MY RAVEN!!”(Hey, she said the thing in the image!)>“Uh…what she said.”>Did she just say…>Both girls blushed heavily upon that sentence being uttered.

Holding up her bass, she said to the two “It was one thing for you two to ask me to play a few songs tonight for the kids, but asking me to sneak a little piece of mistletoe over Nerd Girl so Raven could make a move? VERY sneaky, sis.”(What the fuck?
