She was holding her nose tight with her free hand. She had a pained look in her eyes. Her lung capacity hadn't fully recovered. Sonic, at last, found an air bubble and let her have it. With a tiny squeak, her air was replenished. He took a bubble and then let her have the next out before moving on to reach land.'Almost there...'At last, dry land. Sonic gasped for air."We made it, Amy," Sonic said. But Amy wasn't breathing. She'd just barely inhaled water. It scared Sonic how much he was getting used to this.Again, Sonic reappeared on jail. I'm sure any Hollywood bigwig would take any excuse to use a time travel story to prolong a profitable, ongoing movie franchise. I'd argue 06's plot works better in the movie universe, if only because movie Sonic's powers are documented to be uncontrollable and far reaching when raised to a certain degree. No need to invent some fantasy apocalypse scenario involving a jrpg god and somehow rope Sonic into causing it.Silver and Blaze are last big marketable rivals left, and they can't hold a candle to Knux, Metal, or Shadow. Combined they might, though with a few conditions. For example, Shadow has to be involved because the peak of Silver's popularity is when he goes Super with Sonic and Shadow. That's the best Hollywood is gonna squeeze out of him. Mephiles might also need to be involved as the third arm of the movie as added cool factor for somebody the 3 hedgehogs can fight.After that, who knows. As much as I like the movies despite the flaws, it's clear that their marketing strategy right now is based around hyping up rival fights with well-known rivals. Writing comes second. The games still have plenty of plots to choose from, but without a big enough rival attached I'm not sure if Paramount will bite anymore. They may not want to put in the extra legwork to make a lesser known character popular for general audiences. Alternatively, they may try but the first time it bites them in the ass they'll run for the green hills. I'm sure the movie fatigue will set in by then, anyway.

I know the movie versions are OOC but Sonic Movie 3 is the absolute best utilization of them. Especially in the third act. All of their motivations and moods fall into place and none of it feels insincere. Knuckles in particular stands out despite having less to do in this movie.
