I'm playing GFL2 in between Heaven Burns Red and the event going on right now and the quality of the storytelling is just Night and Day.In GFL2 all that happens in the VN segments is the sprite of the character talking is highlighted and that's it, absolutely 0 personality. In Nikke or HBR the VN segments are treated like a stageplay, an integral part of actually presenting the story. Frequently the sprites of the characters get zoomed in or zoomed out, they sometimes shake around, vibrate and even move in front of other sprites as to interrupt or interject. Even in a game with no voice acting in the VN segments like Blue Archive there's still so much personality in the presentation.Its honestly pretty disappointing because I do like the characters and the actual dialogue in GFL2 but it feels so much like early Arknights which actually did get slightly better in the presentation department years later. It seems like this was the case for the entirety of GFL1 and looking at the most recent stories in GFL2 it doesn't seem any better.
