I don't think I know a whole lot with Marvel Rivals but I reached GM solo queue with mainly Magik, filled a few games with tank/support. It might just be that the game is new, but one of my friends plays Groot and was like high plat/low diamond in OW and reached platinum 1 in Marvel Rivals. I think it's just way easier to rank up in this game since you gain a decent amount more than you lose while also having that shield for demotions.
Reminder Marvel uses the asian system of every single rank being tutorial unserious guaranteed to climb if you spam games rank until the very highest rank where your "rank" becomes a number. That is where real ranked starts. Every asian mobile game uses the same system to filter normies who want the "dopamine" hit of "ranking up" each season while maintaining competitive integrity for the grinders that care enough about it to spam games to the top/good players

upon further playing i think magik is not really viable at or above diamond unless you're playing with a coordinated stack.two main problems1: a lot of the higher tier dps are rough for her to fight. namor's squids destroy her attempts at harassing backlines, a good iron man is nearly impossible for her to deal with, she can't keep up with the mobility of black panther, star lord is too quick for her, etc.2: the higher ranked you get, the more likely the enemy team is to be grouped up. a grouped up team is a nightmare of magik to deal with. she can't get good picks, she can't really go in at all without getting shot to death, and her ultimate does nothing against two well-coordinated healers.bummer, maybe if her ult got buffed

Obviously this varies per character, but even a good Hulk for example is difficult to kill because he will spam jump a lot and only use his shield at crucial moments. If your healers are constantly having to baby you because your HP keeps spiking up and down, it means they can't heal anyone else. And if the enemy team has a brain, a pick on a DPS means it's now a 6v5 and they will push hard to fuck you.#2, to make space for your team, aka take and hold ground so your allies can position well and do damage. The reason I said what I said in the original post is because if the Tanks suck ass and aren't making space, it makes it fucking impossible for the DPS to position well and get good angles without completely exposing themselves. It's not just about unga'ing into the enemy tanks. It's more about creating a formation for your team where you are always in between the enemy and your own team.Yesterday some support player was complaining about dying to divers and I told them the same thing. The way to counter divers is by standing near your tanks, and vice-versa.

The vertical maps for capture feel so impossible when to try and come back from a losing position. Yggdrasil map 2 and 3 you have to destroy all the structles in the point room, otherwise you're standing in chokes trying to do damage without getting the objective or you try and jump down to the point but your DPS or Healers standing up top in the choke points get bum rushed

The terrain hitbox really needs to be tweaked if they wanna keep adding wallrunning in this game. Black Panter's passive and double jump barely works on half the maps because it's too easy to get caught on tiny little pieces of geometry. For wallrunning terrain the hitbox needs to be a much simpler, less jagged shape.
