Something somewhere triggered the right brain chemicals and I was somehow put in a chokehold. My issue is that Flynn ultimately is going to be a guy who is going to best execute whatever SEGA wants, which makes him not ideal to be in any real leadership position. He has only really dabbled in comic writing and cannot even match people like Fowler or Maekawa whose other skills really aided in becoming better storytellers.I cannot see Flynn's leadership leading to the kind of world design storytelling you get in recent titles like Elden Ring or Kirby and the Forgotten Land. The story tied gameplay mechanics of numerous amounts of RPGs. Or the tighter pacing the films have that allows them to cram a lot of story into two hours.None of his game ideas sound good, and if the games are ultimately the only place where any new novel concepts are going to be introduced I would want a head writer who understands game design or at least a medium that games can utilize similar storytelling from. Flynn seems to only be really comfortable with comics and only comics in a specific format. I predict that if he isn't going to just be Sonic Team's mouth piece then he is just going to give us the most by the numbers Sonic stories.
