Thinking back on it, what really bothered me about the whole EU Nitroplus ordeal is how they took everything I did for granted. I already said that they wasted my time, but I actually skipped over some details. The guy wanted to run the stream himself, yet had never run a stream before, so he kept asking me for help setting it up anyway. Asking how you set up overlays, what bitrate to use, et cetera. He even asked me to go through the arcade mode to get specific images for him. Characters have unique ending illustrations, so I just set the game to 1 round and easy mode to get through it faster, but I still had to go through all 14 characters to get to the second story mode just to get him what he wanted. That was probably another hour or two spent on this project that I didn't even have to do. And the worst part of all of this? This was around the same time that the Guilty Gear Strive beta happened, so he basically ignored everything I sent him and told him until the last minute, then he tried to throw it all together at the last minute. It was like he wasn't taking it seriously at all despite him saying he wanted to be known as the Nitroplus guy. He also asked me for a copy of Nitro Royale at some point, so I had to dig through my files and upload that just for him. Just a very needy person with several requests, and then he dropped all of that to play the Strive beta like it was all nothing to him. What, am I a joke to these people? Even if you think the game is bad or not that important, do you really think it's right to make all of these requests and then just ignore the person? I hate BBTag, but I wouldn't just go up to the BBTag champion, ask him to commentate, ghost him after he gives me 150 dollars, and then dump my rant on the autism channel about my mental illness. I've been in a pretty bad place before psychologically, probably far worse than this guy, but I still never did that. He actively made the game look worse with his behavior and actions.
I told him multiple times not to pick the Kikokugai stage since it would not run on his PC, but he thought he knew more than me, that it was just a minor mishap, and did it again, so the tournament was dragged out further by the desyncs he was causing and how much we had to keep restarting. At one point, I just got bored and started telling random stories to Diphy since I roped him into this, too, not knowing how bad it would get. After the tournament, he even said “please don’t ask me to do something like this again” so I guess we wasted his time, too.The funniest part is that before that, someone on /afgg/ (likely one of them) complained that I didn’t interact with “the greater fighting game community” as if that actually meant something. The worst part is that even at this point, I was helping people with Nitroplus all the time (and had made that SFV peerblock video), but that didn’t count. Individuals like Samosiv made a big deal about how bad /vg/ was and how they were all just casuals, et cetera, but then I actually enter their communities and they act just as bad, if not worse. Perhaps if they weren’t so arrogant about the whole thing, I wouldn’t care so much, but when they insult my livelihood while behaving like this, it makes me rather angry. In my experience, most people playing on a given server are not that good. I’ve played GBVS a fair bit and can run over most people with Lowain just playing on autopilot. Most of the good players don’t even ask to play in the matchmaking channel. As such, you will only see a lot of them once they descend from the heavens for a tournament. (Vidya told me about the secret top player discords and everyone called him crazy, but then Cheez got invited to one.) Otherwise, you are not going to be facing them. Rather, you will be facing a lot of beginners and intermediates that you can beat with minimal effort. I don’t see how they can complain about places like this when they barely play in the servers they promote either.

Anna's powers involve ice + ice cream, Desiree's powers involve fire + flame grilling, Lupe's powers are wind and lightning + coffee brewing, Jen's powers are water + ramen/sushi, and Li's powers are earth/wood + Chinese buffet.
