Ah, I see. The genes for more exotic genitalia like undead/ghost/golem/etc are stored in an xml in mod/(not)racesupport, which (I'm not sure why) isn't being read. Moving them in their proper def/gene folder fixes the issue, but then the game throws a bunch of new red errors since rjw 5.5 or whatever moved from PartBase to SexPart and genes wasn't fully ported over. It also stopped using rjw.PartProps and uses <partTags>, but thankfully it seems a pretty easy fix.
I think I might fix it and upload the files somewhere if anyone's interested.

Tempted to buy the gane and mod it to oblivion. Can it eventually have the following features with mods?

Also not sure about the newest one, but Z-level mods tend to be pretty unstable and heavy, hence your PC committing sudoku.

Fairly sure I've seen a mod to uncap stats. Immortality and no maintenance can be achieved with biotech and anomaly. Obviously, it probably won't account for needs added by mods, so you'll have to figure out a way to make your pawn not need sex/a shower/whatever if you mod it in, either through their content, more mods or just modding mods yourself.

Actually impossible. You can't settle on a tile too close to another settlement and unless you use an empire/outpost/whatever mod you will once again brick your PC. You're likely to have performance issues with a single base by late game and the world has thousands of tiles unless you play on a 5% map. It is simply unfeasible. You can eliminate every other faction and disable insects and mechs, but then there's no real point to playing the game.

That's in vanilla. The richer you are, the harder the raids. Obviously, you can add uber-OP enemies if it's not hard enough for you, or add mods to make raids scale with how many pawns you have and so on.

There's code to make underground conduits untargetable and invulnerable, you can slap it on walls or whatever and make everything indestructible if you wish. Worn apparel is a tad harder, but you can just inflate HP to stupid levels or add mods do passively repair it. Non-wooden flooring is automatically invulnerable.

You need the monolith to trigger the final entity. You can only activate it after doing the Void Touched anomaly ending, too. It's quite restrictive.

There's a program called asset studio that will let you open the file called resources.assets and browse/export most of the game's textures. Child pawn's bodies are in the resources_biotech file.
I don't know if there's a way to preview clothing on a pawn, the method I use is layering the textures on top of each other in an image editor.

I've got less than a hundred hours in Rimworld, despite following it on and off since it was in early access. For pic related, I don't know how to feel about the fact that I made an amazon colony as a joke, and it's one of my most successful ones. I tried out the tribal start and I only cheated once because two colonists had an incurable plague, and getting something like that in the early game pretty much meant I would have to restart anyway.
What makes it funnier is that I explicitly started with only one male and I made him a highmate. It just seemed really funny to me at the time. He married a misandrist, and they unironically love each other.

that's not how drop raids work, you can get them from day 1 and they can land literally anywhere that isn't overhead mountain, big open rooms are deathtraps
you want small rooms (aside from stockpiles and workshops because when those burn down it tanks your wealth and gives you time to recover) with doors everywhere
individual bedrooms are basically mandatory because pods love dropping on sleeping or incapacitated pawns, especially children; the storyteller looks at your relative pawn values and says 'well this one dying wouldn't hurt too bad'
if the pods drop in the one-legged blind old guy's room, you lose one pawn and then they have to bash through a door to get out; if it drops in your mega-dormitory everyone's in melee range right away
non-flammable walls and doors are required to prevent fires from spreading; either speedrun deep drilling to get enough stone for your walls, or go raid mining sites for steel
the most overpowered method of dealing with raids is to just leave all your valuable shit outside where the raiders can just steal it, and hide indoors; I just had a raid that would be kind of a pain to fight decide to steal my fucking smelter and crematorium and some plasteel and leave, which allowed me to sally out and shoot them in the back

Stop and think about it for a second. Export your currently modlist. Then go and put every single mod into your active modlist. Then save, delete the mods, and then let RimPy re-download. As long as it's still on the workshop, it will redownload everything.

I got the essentials set up, now I can start to expand out. I need to get clothing for the colonists, make their bedrooms a bit neater and do something about the kitchen but that can easily be done by putting the kitchen/butcher in its own area, most likely attached to the existing building, so I don't have to move the table. It's also nice to finally have colonists. I was able to scavenge weapons and miho turrets so we should be fine on defense for some time. The next big issue will be power but it's not immediate.

If I wanted to get into actual modding with my only previous experience being some personal clothing mods using Adobe Illustrator and I wanted to, say, make a weapon mod compatible with CE what is the best way to go about learning to do that? What about for a more complex mod for custom modular guns/ammo/explosives? I'd love to get some help learning but I'd like to do most of it myself so I can learn and possibly do some more complex mods in the future. Part of me thinks going with some small scale requests first might be a good idea but I remain unsure.

I swear that's why weapon durability was added, that thing carried me through the entire game and invalidated every weapon that wasn't anti-tank, ammo is plentiful and dropped by common enemies, large magazine, high rate of fire, decently accurate, instakill on headshots and an underbarrel laser for any enemy that can take more than 5 shots. I don't think I've ever found a game that's made their basic bitch "assault rifle" that effective, especially one that scratches my specific itch for heat shields

It's hard to recommend any of them.
Vanilla faction bases expanded only changes vanilla and a select few VE faction bases. Mod added factions won't be touched. And it only makes them look a little better, maybe a little stronger. It also had a bug for a long time where raid camps would never spawn with conduits, so all the turrets would be off. Not sure if they ever fixed it, it's VE so..
Powerful faction bases makes bases reasonably bigger and gives it reasonably more pawns. But it generates any turret loaded into your game. A base can have medieval ballistae, spacer turrets, turrets that are never meant to spawn, all of that in one base.
Large faction bases makes bases massive. Like most of the map. Insane numbers of pawns. Massive, game breaking amounts of valuable and rare loot. It can be fun to challenge something like this, but if you're performance is bad you might be watching a slide show.
Misc mapgen factionbases adds a bunch of different varieties of bases, and makes them spawn by chance instead of vanilla. This gives a lot more variety in bases. I don't know of any issues with this one, but I'm pretty sure it changes the power level of bases the least. Which means bases will still be a piddling little village, just more varied.
So, pick your poison. I haven't raided bases since 1.4 so my knowledge might be outdated.

Temperature expanded seems to have the proxy heat dll and as such the proxy heat comps separate from the rest of the VE temperature ones, so making it standalone should (maybe, possibly) be as simple as deleting the VETemperature assembly, as well as the Defs folder since Proxy Heat doesn't need those to add the comp via patches.
Now, for some strange reason, the patches folder in the 1.5 folder of VETemperature includes less patches, and doesn't even include patches for Royalty, while the 1.4 folder does. Don't really know why

Yeah, this is the final one. For the previous two maps I left just a bit after trees grow back and regular animals are able to move in, which was around 70-50% pollution or so. First was temperate forest and second was boreal forest. It's extreme desert this time.
My objective was to fully clean the final map and then also clean the surrounding area of pollution as well with the help of the Caravan Can Clean mod. Other minor objectives include raising all faction relations to +100 and obtaining all three relics of my ideologion. The archonexus was just a side thing, I designated one colonist as a must-not-die pawn and if she dies, then the entire project is immediately abandoned and the rest of the colony will go beg for the machine god to "grant salvation" to all beings on the rim. It's a bit of a reenactment of a certain old game's plot.

I have the relations maxed already because I took all the +goodwill quests and destroyed some permanently hostile settlements. I know I can just bribe them but it's for roleplay reasons. The relic should be fast but the world tile cleaning with Caravans Can Clean is pretty slow, I think it takes about a year for me to clean a single tile. I guess I can just replace that objective with turning all the sand into soil and planting trees everywhere.
The game is Ar Tonelico 2: Melody of Metafalica. The game is set in a dying "land" where barely any life can thrive. One person had the "spell" to creating new fertile land but it takes too much power and will kill the caster, so her best friend made a patch for it by redirecting the energy requirement to the people around them. This meant that everyone will have to work together and fully believe in the two. At the final part of the process, the people lost faith in them and the caster ended up dying, so her best friend deemed it impossible to save the world like this and devised a plan to rip everyone's souls apart from their bodies and live eternally in bliss as beings without physical form.

Though, your explanation does transcend beyond just vanity, because oskarslop and other mods add utility apparels, like clothes that make pawns more effective at certain jobs. This armor rack thing would give much more reason to use though, since unless the pawn under normal circumstances is strictly a worker drone, there is little reason to do that over armor.

Dunno if I'm making sense but the cell bars are impassable like a wall but they're treated like they're not there for defining the room, leaving the prisoner in the med bed area where she can't access a cell and no way to force a colonist to move her to one because she is technically already in a cell.
Replacing the cell bar walls with normal walls unfucks everything and someone comes to put her in one of the actual cells unprompted.

That's kinda what I suspected. It's weird though because I ran a test and you can shoot through these bar gates but they are still treated like a normal door.
Wonder if something similar might explain why that one, functional window mod causes some strange behavior with raider AI.
It also has a weird relationship with temperature mechanics as whenever the windows were built, the temp on the tile they occupy would remain the same unless the tile's temperature is changed by something like a fire, where then the intense fire temp could cause the window to permanently self immolate until destroyed

Doors have extra code associated with them so they are impassible unless the pawn is allowed to use it. So, they still function normally even when fill percent is under 1.
The windows mod probably has other things going on. IIRC it lets pawns crawl through it when it's open, so it's probably related to that.

Reminds me of when I used to make VGP's stew and you can only make it in batches of 8, the cook was level 31 with EndlessGrowth and the food poisoning chance was literally 0.09%, it happened about three times in the course of two years and because it's in batches of 8, the entire colony gets poisoned immediately
