Just replying one more time with an update. Please excuse the spacing.

Nice to see that my suggested archive link for previous threads was used in the last thread's OP.

On April 3rd, I finally 100%'d the Event Directory AND finally got that fucking Bugatti invite; letting me get the only Extra Menu car (of the current 135) that I didn't own. I believe it took four months, almost to the day, since I started. Naturally, the /vgt/ thread had died, a third of the way through, just two days before.

Those GT Cup (Gr.3/4) races were fucking awful, as were the remaining Clubman Cup Plus races. The BoP fuckery is one thing, but the AI is rigged against us. The BMW M6 Sprint, the Ferrari 458, the AMG Merc, the Audi R8 LMS Evo, the GT by Citroen, Nissan GT-R, and the Veyron Gr.4, and MAZDA3 Gr.4 were crucial.

Funnily enough, once I got the invite-gated Veyron 16.4, it was able to win the Fuji and Watkins Glen CCP races for me at the first attempt thanks to it's great top speed. It also seems that the trick is to stay in 2nd and make a move on the final lap. Being in the lead just makes the AI absurdly faster, so players should be fine with playing dirty if need be. The Mini race at Goodwood was impossible without installing nitrous. That finally completed all event races for me.

I enjoyed dropping the tedious Sardegna grind for a couple of weeks to finish out the directory, but sadly I will have to go back to it for a couple of months of solid grinding just to get enough credits for all the 12M+ cars. Apart from happy Fridays, doing the Weekly Challenges. I've let a bunch of 1M+ cars pass through Hagerty in the mean time, as I am still waiting to buy the '95 McLaren F1 that's likely due in mid-late April. I am still keeping to my cap of less then 150mi per day (three Sardegnas). Just passed 300M cr. career earnings.

I suppose that all I somewhat care about completing now is the car collection. I am past 60% now. Also still sick about the shitty game/HD capacity for replays (on a console with a lot of free space) and having to keep pruning them.

I did pop back to GT4 to start a new save. Damn, the early game is repetitive and boring without knowing the best early money races. I still remember doing all those Sukuza East races with the Honda Civic. Being able to B-Spec on x3 speed does make the grind less draining, once B-Spec Bob gets good enough. Just a shame that GT7 doesn't have a bunch of GT4/5's tracks.

It's very annoying that the GT wiki has now gotten cunty about adblocking, so all those fucking obnoxious stay-in-view videos have to be allowed to block the page. Scrolling past advert banners wouldn't have been a problem, compared to that.

What's your time? Are you on controller or wheel? I suppose it would be harder hug the line on controller. I got to within a tenth in two laps, and the gold time is a whopping four-tenths slower than the record. With such a simple lap the time isn't likely to drop by any more than another tenth.

Corner because I fear of losing the momentum.
>>
>>519994272
kinda late but
Schumacher's 94 Benetton had a V8, they didn't switch to a V10 until 1995. so the naming scheme Polyphony used doesn't fit.
>>
>>520614924
and more importantly, Benetton had the high nose design as early as 1991, whereas the F094/S has the low nose design of the Williams.
>>
the fact that both GT7 and TXR had their updates in the same day,and both had different reactions tells you about the state of both games.

I know, I was responding to someone who hypothesised it was meant to be Schumacher's championship car. I'm the anon who originally posted that it was silly to have both Senna and Hill's 94 Williams. it's the exact same car, Hill was Senna's teammate. I would've rathered Prost's 1990 Ferrari, Schumacher's 1994 Benetton, or Hill's 1996 Williams.

>the difference between Polyphony and Genki
I don't feel like that makes sense because they can't really be compared
Genki is an indie studio with >150 people onboard, most of them being dudes in their 40s that likely worked on the first games. They just did what they knew how to make best, and, surprise, if you used to make fun games you can still make a fun game if you just do the same formula again (this is a good thing.)
Polyphony certainly has the talent for quite literally anything they wanna make, the issue is, that talent will never work on good stuff, because if the director says "make the campaign incredibly barebones, don't mind the abysmal AI, add random cars every week, don't overhaul the campaign" then what can you do about it.

>>520706618
I think it's too late at this point for a traditional GT mode in GT7. It wouldn't really be that fun to play through as you already have the cars and credits you need. They would have to do it for GT8. Only possible thing is that they keep GT mode progression separate from everything else, but they're not gonna do it.

I had a shitty run of races (partly because my teammate completely bottled one of the races, giving me no points) so to actually win the championship I had to make sure that Ravenwest lost completely on the final round.
Arguably one of the worst parts of the original GRID, on the other, having to strategise beyond just "go as fast as possible for as long as possible" is cool.

man, i'm still annoyed by how badly they ruined GRID 2
it's like they took everything cool about GRID 1 and removed it and put a bunch of bland features in their place
seriously, why did they remove the entire motorsport aspect of the game?

in other news, i played enthusia for the first time today and i've got mixed feelings about it but mostly positive feelings
the car list is fairly large, awesome and varied, the physics are pretty good, tracks are interesting and visually stunning but the entire way the career mode is setup is so bizarre
it actively discourages you from using fast and fun cars, YOU get punished if other cars drive into YOU and if that happens too many times in a race, the entire race is literally pointless and not only do you gain nothing but you actually lose progress points
it's respectable that they tried to experiment with something new but they didn't pull it off well, IMO

What I'm more baffled about is how they kept pushing the dumbass idea of the "every discipline racing series" and never came back to having you race in actual real life racing series with a mix of real and fictional teams.

Also I got stuck on Enthusia because I didn't have fast enough cars to compete in RS and once I got a fast enough car I wasn't getting enough points to rank up to be eligible for RS again, I don't understand how that game is meant to be played, genuinely.

March and Lupo making it to 500 would be a stretch

and it wasn't an utter shitbox either

i think EA WRC is a bit overhated.

yeah most racing cars have gotten significantly faster. the only ones that haven't are LMPH, F1, and Indy. mostly for safety/cost reasons.

it's DR2.0 but with the WRC license.

and with more customization and a more proper career mode too.

I have a rendering issue whenever I play it in the PS5 where some random patches of light will appear on the surface of the stages. Seems to be a problem that's been going for months now and Codies doesn't seem to care about it.

yeah i can't excuse the technical issues that game has.

There's a reason why I said WTC 600, not 700.

Hig-rev turbo and slicks easily could get it to high 500s,

I wish we had anti-lag for the turbo-converted cars and lettered tyres for the road cars.

imagined a timeline where GRID was more autistic and included Super GT as a discipline, including more GT500 cars and GT300 as well

I'm surprised GT never featured the Mustang GTR

175k to repaint two things, thanks admeister

I've never owned a PS2 GT game, only ever played it at friends houses
playing lots of stuff I missed out on as a poorfag kid, which one is better, 3 or 4?
>>
>>521504114
4 has more content but i would suggest playing 3 first,as GT3 save data gives you a bonus for GT4
>>
>>521504114
GT3 is a bit tighter game design wise, but can get repetitive due to the lack of content
GT4 on the other hand is so expansive it may feel overwhelming
Both games are great, it's 2025, you can just pirate them

The '08 GT500 GT-R is by far my favorite Super GT car. It still looks incredible for a 15 years on with just the right amount of busy aero, shame they got rid of the roof scoop ery quickly though.

I finished up the Italian cars today. Only French, Korean, and Japanese cars remain, 39 in total. Up next is twelve French cars for 7.3 million credits.
